Rik, stupid autocorrect!

MarxandMarzipan · 09/01/2019 20:25

lotusbell I think that Rik would have appreciated the autocorrect!

But for sheer absolute brilliant genius you cannot beat
Bob Monkhouse. Saw him live once too.

NopeNi · 09/01/2019 20:32

Monty Python - brilliant, and all on Netflix at the moment!

TattiePants · 09/01/2019 20:36

Victoria Wood
Billy Connolly

Particularly when they did 'An audience with......' that was aired in the 1980's. I would have been quite young at the time but can still remember crying laughing at Victoria Wood singing 'I can't do it'.

SueGeneris · 09/01/2019 20:43

Lots of brilliant people mentioned here but I have to add Steve Coogan.

Truckingonandon · 09/01/2019 20:45

Mickey Flannigan
Sarah millican
Kevin bridges
Lee Evans

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 09/01/2019 21:02

Victoria Wood always made me laugh so much, more as I got older can could relate better to what she was saying.

I love Romesh Ranganathan, he's so bitter and cynical.

Rachel Paris - the contrast between her media-bimbo delivery and her biting content is just perfection.

I remember in the early days of Mock the Week, perhaps two or three series in, I saw Dara O'Briain being interviewed on another programme and he mentioned something about how competitive it was when the whole panel was made up of comedians. I was genuinely shocked as I hadn't realised that Russel Howard was a comedian, I thought he was a d-list celeb from a reality show or something. I definitely hadn't laughed at anything he'd said.

DarkDarkNight · 09/01/2019 21:17

Peter Kay, like the boys at School who used to make me laugh until my face ached. It’s his facial expressions as much as anything.

Graham Norton on Father Ted or on his chat show.

Paul Merton and Frankie Boyle.

DarkDarkNight · 09/01/2019 21:20

God I forgot Steve Coogan. I was obsessed with I’m Alan Partridge at School we used to recite whole bits. It’s one of those shows you can watch repeatedly and constantly pick up something new each time.

Allice · 09/01/2019 21:36

There are a few I like but I think Victoria Wood. I was about 14 when her 'An Audience' was shown on itv and it was and still is really really funny, it must be 30 years old.

Billy Connolly's is almost as good but I think Victoria edged it.

poundoflard · 09/01/2019 21:52

missyagravation

I was only thinking of Lee and Herring in tmwrnj today!!
Moon on a stick and Kofi Anan (coffee and a naan)
