What you been watching on tv?

pyjamama · 08/01/2019 03:01

I'm awake ... sad ☹️

Mississippilessly · 08/01/2019 03:02

I've been catching up with Black Mirror. I really want to watch the film but haven't found the time.

How were yours days yesterday? What brings you to MN at 3am?

pyjamama sorry to hear you are sad. Do you want to talk about it?

I'm up. But only because I'm in Canada and it's 10:00pm here.

My babies are 11 and nearly 7 - I would give anything to have a lovely 4 month old asleep on my chest. Wink

Mississippilessly · 08/01/2019 03:06

Annie do you want mine? He is breaking me night by night. I will post him to you.

I only watched a few black mirror episodes but watched the film. Blew my mind. Story wasn’t brilliant but the production and choices freaked me out. I used to read the mystery books with choices and this was so alike. Found myself scared to pick!!!

AnnieOnAMapleLeaf · 08/01/2019 03:10

Ooh yes please, OP!! Would it be creepy if I told you I wanted to sniff your child's head?

Oddsocksandmeatballs · 08/01/2019 03:11

I'm up, I am working. Looking forward to getting home as I am then off until Monday

Mississippilessly · 08/01/2019 03:12

Not at all. When you've got him you can sniff to your heart's content. And I can sleep.

flapjackfairy · 08/01/2019 03:13

It is compulsory to sniff all babies heads isn't it ?

Justagirlwholovesaboy · 08/01/2019 03:13

Aww no child to trade, I do have a 14 week old puppy though who loves giving kisses....when he’s not trying to bite your leg :)

Hidingtonothing · 08/01/2019 03:14

Aw OP I remember it well, DD went through a stage where she would only sleep on me, it's bloody hard! Good news is it was fairly short lived and she's slept like a dream ever since, there is hope, honest Smile

AnnieOnAMapleLeaf · 08/01/2019 03:16

I think it's compulsory. I cannot understand how people manage to be around babies without smelling them and snuggling them and patting their bottoms.

Sorry, I had a hysterectomy a few years ago and have had insane baby cravings since then. I need to make myself a button that just says "I'm hormonal, not crazy" to explain why I go so gooey when I see babies on the street.

Mississippilessly · 08/01/2019 03:18

To be fair I'm on my knees exhausted but.I'm also thinking 'maybe we have a second one soon to get it all over with'.

He is gorgeous but the lack of sleep is really getting to me.

I've been there, OP. DS had CMPI and reflux and was extremely fussy (with good reason). He would only sleep in his bouncy chair or in the chair. Consequently, I slept on the couch with him in his bouncer beside me for nearly 6 months. If I wasn't on the couch, I was driving around town in the middle of the night hoping the car would lull DS off to sleep.

It will pass. Hang in there and try to grab some sleep when you can. BrewThanks

AnnieOnAMapleLeaf · 08/01/2019 03:23

That should say "in his bouncy chair or in the car"

Mississippilessly · 08/01/2019 03:28

Annie thanks. I think I could get DD to sleep in his bouncer but the angle looks so unsafe. I don't think I could relax enough to sleep.
I so want to transfer him to his crib but he needs sleep and I don't want to risk it. So on me it is.

The other thing that worked a dream for us was a wrap carrier and a recliner. I would wear him on my chest and I we would both doze in a recliner. We both got some much needed rest and there was no risk to DS. My doctor suggested it when he noticed how exhausted we both were.

Mississippilessly · 08/01/2019 03:37

I would love to do that but it's now high on the 'don't do' list in case they turn their heads and are breathing straight into your chest. DS only naps in his sling so if I could do that it would be amazing.

Pregnancy insomnia here. And according to this thread maybe my body is training me up ready Blush

AnnieOnAMapleLeaf · 08/01/2019 03:59

Obviously, be safe but don't let the constant "parenting rules" wear you down. They are guidelines, not laws.

Mississippilessly · 08/01/2019 04:01

Annie I might have to cave and sleep with the sling in the day.
I get no rest.
