Anyone still around from the olden days ??

i think I joined when Ds was around 9 months old, so 2003, and then stopped posting around 2013/14 ish maybe, not too sure.

Seems like a life time ago and was just sat here wondering if anyone from then was still around, or if we all buggered off.

OP posts:

Bollocks- my first introduction to the vile DP was a thread she started about would it be OK to send her child to a school with "lots of SN children" (her words) Vile human being. I was always surprised and a bit sickened that people enjoyed "banter" with her.

Hoosh · 07/01/2019 14:21

I've been here since about 2005. Namechanged a fair bit though. It's definitely evolved over the years but I still like it on here. I blame the creation of the AIBU topic for the less-good changes Grin

thelikelylass · 07/01/2019 14:27

since 2006 - loved it then, very funny (the nanny and the jar of tomato sauce, brilliant comments in response)
All seems a bit 'try hard now' and people too quick to shout down the OP before the full story unfolds.
I remember:
Solidgoldbrass
scottish mummy
bonsoir
lequeen
bupcakes
Xenia
pagwatch
thanksforthemammaries (i think)
expat

there was always a thread around about one poster who had a very relaxed attitude to sex and multiple partners and there would be another poster who would pop on to say how disgusted she was but cannot remember - funny, like a radio 4 play!
I used to be shocked at how much detail some people gave on the forum about their home lives and their kids and their posts with photos but now it's the norm in other forms of social media.

I lurked and namechanged but have been around since 2009 or 10. Became friends on twitter with a few well knowns but have left that now as i needed to engage in life more.
i recognise loads of names here. ShowOfHands i remember your name.

ErrolTheDragon · 07/01/2019 15:01

I remember VictoriaPeckham posting frequently and a thread that revealed who she was.

Ohhh ... there's a certain journalist whose Twitter handle has always puzzled me...

I miss HoneyDragon, some of the threads she started were fun.

BikeRunSki · 07/01/2019 15:09

Was it gentleotter who was a crofter?

RedTartanLass · 07/01/2019 15:15

@Wickedwaterwitch i Remember you! And TikToc the MW, she was amazing and gentle and soooooo non judgemental.

Can someone please explain how to see your registered number. I just can't find it. Although I did find some of my name changes!!

UrsulaPandress · 07/01/2019 15:19

I thought Honeydragon was still around occasionally.

RedTartanLass · 07/01/2019 15:19

And do you remember when NM's had a thread about the Nest of Vipers and we all went on and registered! They stoped accepting registrations for a few weeks!

I never did post on there, and haven't been on since.

ErrolTheDragon · 07/01/2019 15:22

In the iPad app, if I choose My Mumsnet from the menu in the top right hand corner (at the top level, not when in a thread or topic) then click the bar at the bottom which is labelled something like Mumsnet settings (can't remember and I can't access it while I'm writing a post). That should open a browser window with your account details on the top tab. In mine I can see my System ID which I'm assuming is the number we're talking about.

Smeeeeeee · 07/01/2019 15:23

I remember you Nutcracker! I've also been here since 2003. Not same user name.

RedTartanLass · 07/01/2019 15:28

Thanks @ErrolTheDragon I'm 35,000 something!

notacooldad · 07/01/2019 15:31

There was a couple of names I used to get mixed up with One was, I think, Trinny Was there TrinnyRhino and aTrinity?

OVienna · 07/01/2019 15:49

2006 - aware of MN from the She Who Shall Not Be Named press reports but properly registered after I'd had an ectopic pregnancy...went from the kind ectopic pregnancy trust boards to here...
Have named changed was HarrietTheSpy

HumberElla · 07/01/2019 16:05

Oh yes Trinity. And Slubberdegullian

AlpacaLypse · 07/01/2019 16:06

I think I joined in autumn of 2007, I've changed name a few times but have been AlpacaLypse for quite a while now, mainly as I can't remember my password. I tend to lurk more than post and to avoid getting involved in controversial Aibus and other bunfighty threads so no one really notices me.

Thanks for the Moldies explanation, I've often wondered!

FruOla · 07/01/2019 16:08

I've reverted to a previous NN (for this thread) which may, or may not, be recognised. Joined in 2010, but with a different NN - it took me about 6 months to find my feet here; then NCd when I felt more confident and, over the years, had a series of vaguely interconnected NNs. 18 months ago decided to start NCing regularly, with no connection to any of my previous NNs Sad

I miss Quint (and her various NNs too!). I think she struggled with balancing her life here in the UK and back in her home country - IIRC, she'd moved back and forth over some years, it sounded so stressful and she was lovely.

Met some absolutely lovely MNers IRL over the years though!

Smeeeeeee · 07/01/2019 16:26

Catching up with this thread has been a walk down memory lane. I remembered that I had a dream that misdee had another baby and then she did Grin

Also sadly remembering Maude who died as a toddler of SIDS. I can't recall her mum's posting name but I still think of you and your family Flowers

notacooldad · 07/01/2019 16:30

Does Wilf's mum still post?
I know she changed her name but the posts were always nice and I liked hearing how he was getting on and what he was up to.
