DHs semen was brownish

DH and I are TTC. I noticed, after DTD, that there were brownish drips stains on the sheets where he had pulled out. Should we be worried? I've read that it can just be from a blood vessel, or from not having ejaculated for a while or from having a little urine in his tubes. Should he get medical attention, and should I now be worried about having this in me? Will this affect a potential pregnancy or my own reproductive health?

Are you sure it was from him and not from you, OP?

payperview · 06/01/2019 01:32

I've checked myself, it's not me. Plus I can tell from where I was laying and where he was positioned once he'd pulled out. Definite drips from him.

I'd be surprised if sex didn't dislodge a bit of old brown blood from you. If it is from him though he should probably get checked out.

payperview · 06/01/2019 11:12

It was from him.

gamerchick · 06/01/2019 11:14

The only way you can know it was from him is for him to ejeculate with none of your bodily fluids involved.

GobblersKnob · 06/01/2019 11:17

If it was him I see no reason why it will affect you at all.

I think he needs to check if it's him and still happening.

IamFrauBlucher · 06/01/2019 11:19

I think what other posters are sayings that there could've been perhaps a bloody fibre from the womb lining, or tiny part of a clot that passed into your vagina and then during intercourse onto him, OP?

Then regardless of where he ended up lying it could transfer to the sheets with that later contact?

Agree he needs to ejaculate independently to check.

Dodie66 · 06/01/2019 11:25

My DH has this and the next time was pinky/red so he went to the doc. All checked out and ok. They said it could be a blood vessel but always wise to get it checked out

flumpybear · 06/01/2019 11:35

If it's definitely him then he should get checked out - I think also check google whether certain foods can change colour of semen and other ejaculate fluids ... like beetroot can make your wee pink etc ...

payperview · 06/01/2019 11:52

No it was him, he saw the drips coming out of the end of his penis. Definitely him. Not me.

OP posts:
GobblersKnob · 06/01/2019 11:55

He should still check to see if its the same. And regardless should see the GP next week.

Kintan · 06/01/2019 12:00

If it was from you, it could still have ended up dripping off him! But if you are worried, get him to make a GP appointment and get checked out.

TheVanguardSix · 06/01/2019 12:01

Get it checked out. That’s all you can do.

robrobinson · 06/01/2019 12:04

My DP had this. Can't remember what it was but nothing serious. Think he went for a scan. Turned out to be a varicose vein or something. No further action anyway.

payperview · 06/01/2019 15:59

Thanks everyone. Again, it was him, not me. Unless my fluids can get inside him and drip out the end of his penis. IT WAS HIM.

I'll ask him to get it checked out.

OP posts:
Holymolymackerel · 06/01/2019 16:14

I think the reason some people have said it could be from you is because you seem overly insistent it isn't from you and more concerned about the impact on ttc and your health rather than concern for your dh.

Could be any number of things ranging from innocuous to serious. Trip to the gp.

FevertreeLight · 06/01/2019 16:16

Unless my fluids can get inside him and drip out the end of his penis.

Think that through. Is he circumcised?

ShatnersBassoon · 06/01/2019 16:21

The only thing you need to do is encourage your husband to speak to his GP about it. What would you expect him to do if some out of the ordinary discharge came out of your vagina?

gamerchick · 06/01/2019 16:21

Have you asked him to produce some fluid so you can see?

Bloody daft to make him go to a GP without doing that first because his GP may ask if he has. Bizarre you're so adamant.

Ifangyow · 06/01/2019 16:23

This once happened to my OH. He had a little blood mixed in with his semen. He got checked out and it was a tiny rupture son where in his urethra. No treatment required and nothing to worry about.
Keep an eye on it, if it continues to happen, then certainly get it checked, but if it's a one off then don't worry.
Good luck with your efforts.

ChakiraChakra · 06/01/2019 16:23

Please, definitely get him to get checked out at the doctors. My friend's husband passed a tiny bit of brownish blood once, and it was his ONLY symptom - he had bladder cancer and needed serious treatment. It could be nothing, or it could be something serious. Please tell him to get checked.

Ifangyow · 06/01/2019 16:24

Son where??
In his, not son where.

YogaWannabe · 06/01/2019 16:26

Bizarre you're so adamant.

My thoughts exactly.

And why isn’t he off researching and posting himself? He’s a grown man presumably.

BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou · 06/01/2019 16:42

First OP said she saw stains on the sheets THEN she claims she actually saw this emerge from his penis.... which one is it OP? If it’s the latter why are you more concerned about yourself than then the man you presumably are in love with? 😐
