I got a nice round 50 and I'm slightly freaked out- if I don't read the other 50 can I still alive longer?!

I did cheat slightly and tick both the Bible and Shakespeare.... I've read the greatest hits, as it were.

43 ... not too shabby.
I’m only in my mid 30s, so truly hope I have time for the other 57 Grin

MrsTerryPratcett · 03/01/2019 22:58
  1. I cheated on War and Peace which I've started about 10 times and never finished. I want credit! Do I get the Bell Jar if many skinny, callow youth quotes it at me during my teens to try to impress? Grin

  1. I'm in my 50s so I'd better get a move on with the rest!

In fairness They werent my kind of book though . Animal farm and Lord of the flies were school books Grin

heartyrebel · 03/01/2019 23:02

17 here, haven't read a book in a long time

CeceIsMyFave · 03/01/2019 23:02

I'm impressed with 73!

I also cheated with War and Peace Blush skipped the horrifically long speeches and most of the section of the Napoleonic war, but I feel I deserve the tick anyway.

Riddo · 03/01/2019 23:05

I've only read 36, I need to catch up 🙂

BaronessBlonde · 03/01/2019 23:05

55.....lots of ones that I feel I've read but haven't actually IYKWIM

The completist in me is struggling with the fact that there are a few I don't WANT to read. I just can't get on with Thomas Hardy and there are a couple of others I've tried and abandoned...

DangerMouse17 · 03/01/2019 23:07

Only 27 🤔

Will definitely be reading some of them this year though!

Pinkkahori · 03/01/2019 23:07
  1. There's not many I haven't read that I intend to read anytime soon though so doubt I'll get much higher.
PersonaNonGarter · 03/01/2019 23:07

41

That list was bullshit though! The Da Vinci Code? Seriously, it was complete crap.

RhinestoneCowgirl · 03/01/2019 23:08

63, but I take issue with the fact that that The Da Vinci Code is apparently a book you must read before you die! (I have read it tho...)

ThePoliticiansPraiseMyName · 03/01/2019 23:08

36, and I'm 33. 64 to go. 2 a year seems doable 😁

W0rriedMum · 03/01/2019 23:08

44 here but I counted a couple I didn't finish. Atonement, I'm looking at you!

It's a great list. I must reread a few

SleighBellsRing · 03/01/2019 23:09

65 not bad; I have never met anyone who has read Les Miserables however!

NonaGrey · 03/01/2019 23:09
  1. But I have actually read all of War and Peace, the Great works of Shakespeare and the entire Bible Grin

How the hell did Dan Brown make it on the list?

MeetOnTheledge · 03/01/2019 23:09

Can't get the full list to load but I have usually only read about a third of these lists. There are some I have no interest in ever reading.

implantsandaDyson · 03/01/2019 23:10

78 - a lot of them I read when I was at school. I think I've only read a few of them more than once - a Town like Alice I used to read every couple of years.

Fabuleuse · 03/01/2019 23:11
  1. I went through a phase in my early 20s of reading loads of classics. Otherwise my score would be about 12! I've barely opened a book that's not cooking, child or work related since DS1 was born 4 years ago!
lastqueenofscotland · 03/01/2019 23:11

66 but I have no intention of reading any more Dickens ever and I have too much stuff to do like occasionally clean my house/go to work to read a suitable boy

BirdieInTheHand · 03/01/2019 23:11

64 - also lots that I feel I've read because I've started and stopped and/or seen the film

Missyagravation · 03/01/2019 23:11

13, should probably start reading again

kalinkafoxtrot45 · 03/01/2019 23:12
  1. A lot I started and didn’t finish though!
