Does anyone actually like the Cornish Wafer? What crackers always get left in your house?

The Hovis biscuit isn't that popular either.

So do I Porpentina but I wasn't going to admit it until someone else did Grin

HerSymphonyAndSong · 31/12/2018 15:41

Googled. They look just like normal crackers so I am sure I have enjoyed them

SwedishEdith · 31/12/2018 15:54

No, they're softer and feel like a stale normal cracker.

The hovis ones should be sandwiched together with salted butter and enjoyed as a sordid butter sandwich.

DaffydownClock · 31/12/2018 16:02

The Cornish wafer is just wrong, soft and pappy and the Hovis and digestive ones are too sweet but lovely for dunking.
My favourite is water biscuits, something with a bit of crunch.

HerSymphonyAndSong · 31/12/2018 16:04

I think matzos are better than water biscuits

Roystonv · 31/12/2018 16:09

Hatred of the Cornish wafer here; always appears limp and stale with no contrast to the softness of the cheese. Oat cakes and water biscuits the favourites here.

RussellSprout · 31/12/2018 16:11

Matzos with butter is my favourite snack ever!

Mulberry72 · 31/12/2018 16:11

I’ll take all the Hovid crackers, they’re my favourite!

They’re amazing with blue cheese on them, particularly Gorgonzola! ❤️

Tidygirldml · 31/12/2018 16:13

Hovis cracker, black bomber cheddar - orgasm on a plate! Xx

FadedRed · 31/12/2018 16:26

Cornish wafers are the first ones to go in my house! Followed by the digestives (with pineapple cream cheese - the one with the chopped nuts on), the cheddars are excellent with just a little ice cold milk. The ones that get left are the peppery water biscuits.

MeetOnTheSIedge · 31/12/2018 16:33

Cornish wafers are an abominatio, stale and soft. Water biscuits are best followed by Hovis crackers with really strong cheddar or blue cheese.

Notso · 31/12/2018 17:45

The Cornish wafers are hideous. I love the hovis with blue cheese on.

Davros · 31/12/2018 18:03

We have Digestives and Jacobs cream crackers. Occasionally we'll have Cornish Wafers. Sometimes people give us other cheese biscuits and we're not above having those either

BikeRunSki · 31/12/2018 18:05

Cornish and Hovis are my favourites!!

Kezzie200 · 31/12/2018 18:42

Pre gluten free, I loved Hovis and bought them in packets on their own! The water thingys are odd but I know where they get their name feom as they are a bit of nothing much

anoelbthuthdy · 31/12/2018 18:43

Love the Hovis with perfect with blue cheese

SassitudeandSparkle · 31/12/2018 18:45

Both good with cheese, but also good on their own with a generous coating of butter. Although I'm wondering if you have the right Hovis biscuit/cracker there, as I was thinking of the loaf shape one as well. Yours sound more like an oatcake or wholemeal thin.

I leave water biscuits, way too hard!

Ozgirl75 · 31/12/2018 19:32

Love Cornish wafers - DH calls then “those grim pillowy dust biscuits”.

We all hate Hovis.

cantfindname · 31/12/2018 19:57

Love Cornish Wafers, Digestives, Hovis etc.

Completely and utterly loathe oatcakes. Tasteless, hard and horrible.

chocoholicanon · 31/12/2018 20:03

Well I’m the odd one out, I love Cornish wafers and hovis crackers. The only problem with a Cornish is they’re flaky and I end up with bits all down my front.

Frozenteatowel · 31/12/2018 20:08

I adore Cornish Wafers. Theyre one of my favourites along with Jacobs Cream Crackers. I also really love Carr’s Water Biscuits. They’ve all been around since forever and for very good reason imo. And I agree that cheese doesn’t belong on digestive biscuits. They’re imposters in any cracker tin.

Nottobesoldseparately · 31/12/2018 20:12

I love Cornish wafers, however after discovering charcoal biscuits and matzo's (??) Multigrain they have slipped down to 3rd!
Hovis are my least favourite and I have to be pretty desperate to eat them!

HerSymphonyAndSong · 31/12/2018 20:15

Adore oatcakes. Pregnancy mainly fuelled by oatcakes with Philadelphia (suitably bland and non smelly)

IHaveBrilloHair · 31/12/2018 20:16

The Cornish wafers are my favourite, I don't like the hovis but Dd does so she eats them.
I don't have a sweet tooth at all so a couple of crackers to me is like most people eating biscuits.
