What good tv have I missed this Christmas?

So with children and a fair amount of family around this Christmas I have missed most of the festive tv.

I have an evening to watch something decent on catch up. What has been worth while watching please. Don’t do soaps or anything violent or scary. Any recommendations??

Watership down was ok
The repeat of the royle family Xmas special that was good.
The midnight gang was ok

Don't think you've missed much to be honest.

peachypetite · 28/12/2018 19:43

Nothing. Total crap this year.

Bookridden · 28/12/2018 19:47

Upstart Crow.
Christmas University Challenge.

Nothing it's all repeats of Royale Family, Vicar of Dibley and Steptoe and Son. I'm waiting for the new Luther on New Years.

CatnissEverdene · 28/12/2018 19:56

Nothing remotely decent. We've been watching box sets on Sky.

KittensAndChristmasCake · 28/12/2018 20:01

The live episode of 'not going out' was funny

Owlettele · 28/12/2018 20:02

Click and collect or not going out

flossietoot · 28/12/2018 20:05

I really enjoyed ‘the long song’ on BBC 1, three part drama set in Jamaica.

Lurleene · 28/12/2018 20:05

I second Click and Collect, lovely Christmas fun. You'll find it on iplayer.

confusedandemployed · 28/12/2018 20:06

I Third Click and Collect, I loved it. A new Christmas classic.

WatchingTheWheels85 · 28/12/2018 20:07

Another vote for click and collect

MadeForThis · 28/12/2018 20:08

Can I start watching the new Luther without watching any previous series?

MrsJBaptiste · 28/12/2018 20:10

Catching up on Call the Midwife tonight - can't wait!

But I really can't wait for Luther on New Year's Day! Iris Elba... 😍😍😍

dannyboyle · 28/12/2018 20:11

Thanks all, will go and look those up.

Did wonder how much was repetition!

Is Click and Collect suitable for children?

likeaprayer · 28/12/2018 20:12

You didn't miss much. I agree Click and Collect was the only decent thing worth watching

Klobuchar · 28/12/2018 20:13

Click and collect was daft and good natured and our whole family enjoyed it. Definitely suitable for kids

Owlettele · 28/12/2018 20:22

@OwlDoll depends how old.......might break the Santa magic but if old enough that they know anyway then yes it's fine

KeepServingTheFestiveSnogs · 28/12/2018 20:24

Thought this was the worst year for Christmas telly by far. Soooo little on.

Enjoy Christmas University Challenge.
There were some extra Only Connects on last week, and they were fun. (And DH always enjoys ogling at Victoria)
Click and Collect was good enough.
Quite liking the ABC Murders (except I remember who did it and why)

OwlDoll · 28/12/2018 20:26

Thanks for that. Youngest Ds still believes so I might wait until he goes to bed before watching.

thismeansnothing · 28/12/2018 20:28

The Queen and I (sky one)
Click and collect
Xmas bake off
Xmas strictly

Petalflowers · 28/12/2018 20:28

We enjoyed Click and Collect also.

On Netflix, The Chrustmas Chronicles was good if you want a Christmas film.

Not Going Out was good. Also enjoyed Mrs Brown boys.

There wasn’t any particular big Christmas special this year.

umpteennamechanges · 28/12/2018 20:36

I second the Christmas Chronicles on Netflix for a good Christmas movie

TheDogAteMySock · 28/12/2018 20:38

Another vote for click and collect. Nothing else grabbed my attention though.

Which1areyou · 28/12/2018 20:41

Chilling adventures of Sabrina's Xmas special on Netflix other that nowt
