What good tv have I missed this Christmas?

So with children and a fair amount of family around this Christmas I have missed most of the festive tv.

I have an evening to watch something decent on catch up. What has been worth while watching please. Don’t do soaps or anything violent or scary. Any recommendations??

Torvill and Dean was good.

TryItAndDieFatLass · 28/12/2018 20:44

Click and collect or the Queen And I

The rest of it has been mostly shite

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 28/12/2018 20:46

Weirdly, Not Going Out live was quite funny (it usually isn’t, they should do it live more often).
Click and Collect was cheesy but good, Asim Chaudry is adorable.
Upstart Crow by far the best thing we’ve seen this Christmas.
First year for ages we’ve not been travelling around so never really watched any Christmas tv since having the DCs. We’re all at home this year so watching a bit, most of it is rubbish but the three above were worth watching. Currently in the middle of Poirot.....verdict not in yet (mine, not his Grin)

One thing not listed here already: King Gary.

Was just 30mins and amusingly entertaining.

The drama documentary re Torvill and Dean was an easy and pleasant watch.

PinkBuffalo · 28/12/2018 20:53

Christmas TV this year has been rubbish Sad
I'm Surprised at everyone saying click & collect as I didn't think much of it!
I watched the BFG the other day, and actually enjoyed it!

I enjoyed the new romesh ranganathan travel one. The guide he had was really funny.

DustandRubble · 28/12/2018 21:00

Call the Midwife was terrible this year. Barely anything happened except the fecking doctor and his dull wife being dull and worthy and patronising as ever.

mammmamia · 28/12/2018 21:36

Click and collect - really enjoyed it! My 8 yo twins watched it too.

Dowser · 28/12/2018 22:30

groundcontroltomontydon · 28/12/2018 22:38

The programme about PL Travers (fronted by Victorian Coren Mitchell) was good, as was Saving Mr Banks

HelenaDove · 28/12/2018 22:45

I dont have Sky or use Netflix. This years Christmas TV has been the worst yet IMO.

Ive been rewatching some of the Dave Allen specials on you tube He did a couple of Christmas ones.

The doco on Bros. Hard to know if it was straight or a parody.

EleanorLavish · 29/12/2018 06:50

We thought Click and Collect was funny.
We also enjoyed The Dead Room, a 30 min spooky story written by Mark Gatiss and with Simon Callow, that was good.
Have just seen the first episode of ABC murders and enjoying that. Haven’t seen anything else.

Starlight90 · 29/12/2018 08:13

Fuck all!

But loved Eddie the Eagle on Ch4 last night!

MeOldChina · 29/12/2018 08:54

Nothing that hasn't been mentioned really.

I quite enjoyed ABC Murders, but lots didn't.

I wish they would do another series of Dickensian. That was good Christmas TV.
