I’ve got a small amount left and might finish it off with a fry up and pickles this morning. It’s still fresh isn’t it?

Hope so, mines going in a pie tonight as long as it smells ok! It hasn't left the fridge so I'm sure it'll be fine...

Bittermints · 28/12/2018 07:34

Turkey puff tonight and that's it finished. Soup made using stock from the carcass. That will get finished today or tomorrow.

Kezzie200 · 28/12/2018 07:35

Curry tonight. But we only had a crown as there were only 4 of us.

Actually just cooking our turkey. Christmas was in another state with extended family. Bought a small turkey breast as I like roast turkey.
Husband decided to cook it today on a 36 degree day!
Weber is out and spuds are on.

mortifiedmama · 28/12/2018 07:42

Not finished ours yet. Should today or tomorrow.

ScreamingBadSanta · 28/12/2018 07:48

We had goose and finished it last night. Goose casserole topped with mash on Boxing Day and curried goose with naan bread last night. It was supposed to serve 9 and there are four of us so we did well to get three meals from it!

pilates · 28/12/2018 08:00

Finished last night with turkey curry

Squatternutbosh123 · 28/12/2018 08:05

Doggo had the last of the beef and turkey for breakfast this morning

potterbell · 28/12/2018 08:07

Turkey risotto last night, turkey pie or chilli tonight and a batch in the freezer for a pie or chilli another time. I do feel I've had my turkey fill mine, I'm ready to move on!

potterbell · 28/12/2018 08:07

*mind, not mine

PenguinPandas · 28/12/2018 08:14

We just have one tupperware container of it left after lots of turkey baguettes and turkey curry. The cat is deliriously happy and purrs each time she has is or anyone says big chicken turkey gets a blank look. Trouble is every 2 hours in the night she's howling for more and she's stalking DH as he gives turkey. Wondering if a cat has ever exploded from too much turkey, she must be eating about 6 bowls a day. 😱

mamaduckbone · 28/12/2018 08:15

We’ve been at SIL’s since Boxing Day and the massive package of turkey we were supposed to bring with us hasn’t materialised. We’re going home today so I’ll see whether it’s still in the fridge at home or rotting on the kitchen table Xmas Confused

HolyMountain · 28/12/2018 08:41

I bought a crown, it fed 8 generously on the day and enough for turkey curry on Boxing Day for two of my ds’s.

It was the perfect size for us , absolutely no waste.

retainertrainer · 28/12/2018 08:46

We had a 7kg turkey. It fed 5 of us on Christmas Day,another 5 for a buffet on Boxing Day. GP’s went home with enough for sandwiches and we’ve had sandwiches for the last 2 days. There’s a small amount left but I’ll bin it if it doesn’t get eaten today although I’m sure DH will polish it off.

Youngandfree · 28/12/2018 08:55

We had beef Wellington (and actually had our Christmas meal on Christmas Eve) and finished it on Christmas Day!! All back to normal here. Turkey is so over rated 😢

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 28/12/2018 08:57

Half of ours still left, as our big dinner was Boxing Day and most of the guests were still stuffed. Also, would anyone in the Morpeth area like a trifle?

bibbitybobbityyhat · 28/12/2018 09:11

I'm going to be making turkey and ham pie later (with a leek, mushroom and cream sauce in the filling) and having it with new potatoes and salad. Then it will be done. When you spend £54 on a piece of meat you feel motivated to get maximum value out of it!

Xmasbaby11 · 28/12/2018 09:14

Turkey, ham and leek pie tonight, then it's finished! I've enjoyed it, though we did have a day off yesterday and had lentil bolognese.

Thespace · 28/12/2018 09:43

Oh yes I’ve got a trifle going spare too.

Bittermints · 28/12/2018 09:46

Yes indeed, bibbity!

We had a 5kg turkey with giblets. The giblets made a great stock for the gravy. The turkey fed four of us generously on Christmas Day, four of us generously on Boxing Day (main meal, cold turkey, leftover gravy reheated, assorted other veg), plus lots of sandwiches over the last few days and the last bits will make Turkey Puff, so one more main meal tonight and one for the freezer - the dark meat chopped and mixed with sauted leeks and mushrooms, leftover bacon and cream, and served either under a puff pastry crust or as the filling in a puff pastry roll. Loosely derived from a Delia Smith Christmas recipe and one of the highlights of our Christmas as far as our daughter is concerned.

Great cold if there's any left over.

And I also got a huge amount of stock from the carcass. Half made a big pot of soup and the other half is in the freezer.

No waste at all, and it tasted really good.

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 28/12/2018 09:52

We had a 4.4kg one. Sous vide breasts, confit legs and the rest roasted to make gravy. It fed 8 of us on christmas day, 4 on stephen's day and me for breakfast yesterday Blush All gone now.

adaisychain · 28/12/2018 09:59

We've got about 2kg left and zero freezer space. My OH decided to feed the whole world it seems, and we only had 7 guests! I hate to waste it but I'm all out of ideas and I don't think we can get through that lot today!

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 28/12/2018 10:19

Stripped the carcass and it’s currently boiling away making the most delicious smelling stock!

Turkey pie tonight then will shred and freeze the rest ready for a curry in the coming weeks

Chocolateismynemesis · 28/12/2018 10:23

All done here. We just had a crown but there are only 6 of us.

  • Dinner on Christmas Day
  • Turkey fajitas/taquitos on Boxing Day as per tradition
  • Christmas Dinner Toasties yesterday complete with the remaining veg/potatoes/stuffing etc
troubleswillbeoutofsight · 28/12/2018 10:27

We had goose. There’s never an awful lot of meat so we used it on Boxing Day for a pie. I don’t like to keep left overs for longer than a couple of days in any case
