Have you finished the turkey?

I’ve got a small amount left and might finish it off with a fry up and pickles this morning. It’s still fresh isn’t it?

We had a 2.1kg crown for 2 adults and 1 toddler. Made bubble and squeak with it on Boxing Day, turkey sandwiches yesterday lunch, turkey risotto last night for 3 adults (nana visited) and tonight it's Spanish turkey for tea. Plus there's another portion of bubble and squeak in the freezer. Think we did quite well.

We had a tiny breast joint for the 2 of us. A meal on Boxing Day lunchtime, turkey sandwiches for tea, and turkey curry last night. And now it is gone. IMO by 3 days I am bored with eating the same meat.

We had a veggie Christmas Day meal BTW.

I was just wondering before this thread if it's okay to eat what is left. We have coughs, colds, chicken pox all active in the house between us and last thing I want is to bring food poisoning into the mix.

Yes, it's fine to eat today, especially if it has been kept in the fridge.

Turkey curry currently cooking. There's way too much.
Am I right in thinking it can't be reheated again though?
Cooked on Christmas Day, curried tonight.

Titsywoo · 28/12/2018 20:44

We had beef and ham. There was a fair bit left from each. Used the last of the beef tonight in a curry (had used some for sandwiches on Boxing Day). Still have ham left though - had some in sandwiches and will probably use a bit more tomorrow then give the last bits to the dog.

Small crown for 4 adults then pasta with creamy ham & turkey, many sandwiches and put 2 portions in freezer for 1 x Thai green curry and 1 paella along with leftover chorizo & prawns!

SackOfSprouts · 28/12/2018 20:50

We’ve got some left but I’m binning it tomorrow. Sick of it!

Finished off the ham for breakfast today.

stoplickingthetelly · 28/12/2018 20:53

We had quite a lot left so it's been portioned up and put in the freezer for curries, pies etc.

iLoveFoood · 28/12/2018 20:57

Have a bit of turkey and beef left will be used for sandwiches tomorrow

LooksBetterWithAFilter · 28/12/2018 20:58

We finished the turkey and the last of the beef tonight. My parents were away at my siblings for Christmas so I told my dad yesterday they needed to come over and finish it tonight. We had reduced crackers and an almost full Christmas dinner again tonight. Can do a proper shop tomorrow now I have fridge space.

HildaZelda · 28/12/2018 21:05

All gone here, but it was a crown for 3 of us.

Longdistance · 28/12/2018 21:28

I made a turkey crown on the 23rd, and gammon on Christmas Day. Boxing Day I made a creamy pasta with the leftover turkey and gammon.
The turkey and gammon have both featured in wraps and sandwiches.

Upsy1981 · 28/12/2018 22:14

Dinner was curry today and between that and the cats, its all gone. Just a bit of ham to finish tomorrow but as I keep nibbling that each time I open the fridge, I don't think it will take too much effort!
