Why have the public turn agsinst Meghan?

I really do not understand why.

The Daily Mail are trying to influence public opinion much as they did with the Middleton family.

Nearly everybody I know likes her and thinks she’s a breath of fresh air. The others don’t care one way or the other about the Royals.

i still like her. I just don't feed into all the media crap.

She has her fans and her detractors but I don't think that many people care one way or the other.

The DM have been against her ever since Harry called the press out on their racist comments when it was first revealed they were dating. They were all mock offended about it but I remember articles about how the Queen couldn’t possible meet her mother as she had dreadlocks etc, etc.

They used to slate Kate all the time but she’s now basically the second coming in comparison to Meghan. Unfortunately, it seems a lot of their commenters are lapping it up. I don’t think the wider population feels the same though.

The simple answer is she isnt saint diana therefore not good enough to a) be a princess b) to marry saint diana boy.

Forgetting the fact that saint diana was in no way any think the media made her out to be she was a publicity loving media attention seaker. Who with jer silly simpering voice and model waif like looks maniplated the media and tje general public in to feeling sorry for her.

Piers Morgan is not 'the public'. Nor are the reptiles writing slop for the tabloids. Most people don't care one way or the other

The racist scum at the Daily Fail have turned against her for reasons which are as obvious as they are predictable.

Have they? Of course she has detractors but so did / does Kate, any of the Royals and anyone in the public eye. That's just life. I think most people are ambivalent

When she was dating Harry she was sold as a feminist and humanitarian. Then she did an engagement shoot in a £65k dress, spent £200k on wedding dresses, all the stuff with her Dad has been bad press, the wedding was packed to the rafters with celebs... The royal family seeming more celebby than royal... Stories about her first wedding being a marijuana party where she handed out drugs to all guests etc etc.

I'm not judging any of this myself but these are the reasons (I think) that the press/ public have started to turn on her. She doesn't seem genuine for the above reasons. Who actually knows the truth?

Kate and her family had it for years. They must have breathed a massive sigh of relief when Meghan came along to pick up the baton for the DM. Remember the "waity katie" and "duchess do-little" headlines, along with her "commoner" family. Funnily enough, now Kate can't put a foot wrong......

It was the same with Diana and poor Fergie - she suffered dreadfully at the hands of the media. Talk about history repeating itself.

Daily Fail are just desperate to dredge anything up. If anything, I think the palace are handling badly, I want to see them kick back at the papers a bit more. Pretending it isn’t happening was probably once seen as the polite thing to do, but the fail shouldn’t be able to get away with such personal agendas anymore. I can’t see why they would stop if without legal threat, so the people commenting can continue to be so personal about her too. Just vile.

Meghan is the shiny new victim the press have set their sights on. Nobody in real life cares enough to think much of her and Harry in the detail the press go into.

The coverage is disgusting and practically gaslighting in some ways. The ridiculous fantasy reporting that just goes round in circles until it becomes "fact" then switching tack and saying it never happened when they made it upon the first place. It's completely artificial.

I feel very sorry for Megan, and for Kate.

I still really like her as does my DH and all my family. I don't know why the Mail have to be so nasty to her. They make Kate out to be an angel and the most beautiful woman on the planet. I am sure she is nice but, in my view, is no where near as beautiful as Meghan

I don’t hate her, I don’t know her to have an opinion either way. Though she does irritate me with the constant belly clutching as if she were the first woman ever pregnant.

Diana got loads of bad press, Fergie got loads of bad press, Kate got loads of bad press, Beatrice and Eugenie got loads of bad press, even Sophie got bad press. I'd say misogyny is very much alive and well at the Daily Mail.

The Daily Fail are disgusting in the way they report on Meghan Markle. They know there won't be a rebuttle of any sort so it's open season. The 'news'paper actually gets worse and worse on every subject but on this they hit the actual bottom of the gutter. It's like a bunch of sugared up teenagers with tiny minds coming up with shit and it gets published.

I didn’t know that the public had turned against her, only some of the gutter press who will do anything for revenue.
