I can confirm there were dogs in the river at Bourton on the Water - they looked a bit chilly, and the ducks didn't bat an eyelid.

Tried to catch one in a photo, but couldn't get past the tourists in time.

Happy boxing day folks..

Agree about the nasty geese. When dd was a toddler we got chased by a goose and to my eternal shame I legged it and left her! Though thankfully the goose ignored her and kept chasing me so I like to think I lured it away from her! Grin

You'll surely not get a houseboat in the river at Bourton. Unless it came from the model village?

MrsTommyBanks · 26/12/2018 16:33

I got cornered buy a heard of geese in Windsor. On a school residential trip.
A teacher had to rescue me.

I was terrified.

AlbertWinestein · 26/12/2018 16:34

I can confirm a bulldog just farted on my sofa and she doesn’t even know where Bourton is.

BestIsWest · 26/12/2018 16:36

I can confirm my dog has been to Bourton but didn’t want to go in the water. He enjoyed a bit of pasty from the shop though.

blueskiesandforests · 26/12/2018 16:38

NicoAndTheNiners nope, to my knowledge I've never been to Bourton. I wonder where I was and whether it was actually a dream

NicoAndTheNiners · 26/12/2018 16:39

Big pike can swallow ducks I think so guess they could manage a small poodle?

BlessThisMess · 26/12/2018 16:45

I can confirm there is a Christmas tree in the river in Bourton

Yep. Bad as geese.

Sallygoroundthemoon · 26/12/2018 16:56

I can confirm that my cat has now read this thread and is asking to go to see the dogs in the water at Bourton so she can laugh at them.

XmasPostmanBos · 26/12/2018 16:57

I'm surprised they let the dogs in with the Christmas tree, has this been confirmed?

MrsTommyBanks · 26/12/2018 17:09

I can confirm a lab did a wee on the Christmas tree somewhere

topcat2014 · 26/12/2018 17:10

@Lynettescavo - we passed the hunt on the way home, the dog's didn't look like they had been in the river though.

I am now trying to place that memory, it's itching at my brain Xmas Shock

It's possible that the houseboat was in Kerala, as the guy I picture telling the story about the poodle was an aging hippie type with a lot of hair... In which case it may not have been a pike...

But would he have had a been a miniature poodle in Kerala? Somehow that doesn't sit right... So maybe it was Norfolk or France or Lancashire, or the Themes... In fact I still have no idea Xmas Grin

thisisjustdaft · 26/12/2018 17:30

I can confirm that dc, dh and mil all saw a buzzard sitting in a tree this morning.

I didn't see it, I was in Next Wink

HeronLanyon · 26/12/2018 17:35

This is just daft - I think that might be the same buzzard I did not see as at home slumbering on sofa !

MrsTommyBanks · 26/12/2018 17:45

There are no, I repeat NO buzzards on my sofa.

TheRealJoseph · 26/12/2018 17:49

Leighton has one

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 26/12/2018 17:55

Leighton has one

How careless of them to have lost it, seeing as it’s not on MrsTommyBanks’ sofa.

chemenger · 26/12/2018 18:00

I can confirm that I have paddled in the river at Bourton and that the wolfhounds that are not in my garden were not there. I would like it confirmed that my memory of Brum, the car from the children’s program being in the Motor Museum there is not a false one?

NicoAndTheNiners · 26/12/2018 18:18

I saw Brum in a museum once......or was it in the river at Bourton?

blueskiesandforests · 26/12/2018 18:51

I remember Brum!

He was in a river wasn't he?

That was on the TV and utterly unconnected to miniature poodles, houseboats and hippies.

Different river entirely.

Was it even a river in Brum?

blueskiesandforests · 26/12/2018 18:53

We have loads of buzzards locally. A friend visiting thought they were eagles, she was most impressed with herself seeing an eagle. She stuck to her guns despite their being one every km waiting in a tree for roadkill along the country roads here...

blueskiesandforests · 26/12/2018 18:53

There not their
