I can confirm there were dogs in the river at Bourton on the Water - they looked a bit chilly, and the ducks didn't bat an eyelid.

Tried to catch one in a photo, but couldn't get past the tourists in time.

Happy boxing day folks..

That garden centre is looking jolly bright for the time of year, must be all that dachshund fertiliser.

Veronicat · 26/12/2018 15:55

My dogs have been in Loch Doon this morning if that helps?

stubbornstains · 26/12/2018 15:55

I can confirm there are big fuck off fish with teeth in that river. One bit me when I was a kid and left tooth marks and I was bleeding

Are you sure it wasn't a dog masquerading as a fish though? Try to think back.....

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 26/12/2018 15:57

I can confirm there are two dogs on my sofa now. I can also confirm they aren not allowed there.

HairyDogsFeet · 26/12/2018 15:59

I can confirm that there is no dog in my house. He is on his 7th walk of the day. Boxing day cabin fever has set in.

He is doing his best but he needs a break soon.

Aardvarkitsabloodyaardvark · 26/12/2018 16:01

Yes definitely 😆 at the Windrush being a stream.

Rabbits are bitey bastards. Not sure they can swim though.

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 26/12/2018 16:02

I can confirm that my dog accidentally wandered into said river about fifteen years ago. I still remember the confusion on his little beagly face as he tried to work out why his legs were wet

HeronLanyon · 26/12/2018 16:03

One of the 3 I confirmed were not in my flat (and still are not nor ever have been) has just not eaten a small mince pie I think. Should I not take him to the vet or just hope he does not vomit it up ?

brizzledrizzle · 26/12/2018 16:06

It was quite obviously a dogfish and I can reliably report that those fuckers have a horrible bite.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 26/12/2018 16:06

You have to get the greedy bugger to the vet, Heron. Raisins can be fatal for dogs.

XmasPostmanBos · 26/12/2018 16:08

I didn't want to put a photo of the actual garden centre in case it was identifying as going there is a bit of a hobby for my dh.

LynetteScavo · 26/12/2018 16:12

Unless the digs were part of a Boxing Day hunt and a fox was about to ripped to shreds no one is really bothered.

NicoAndTheNiners · 26/12/2018 16:16

Definitely a fish, I was feeding bread to the fish and one got too keen. Guess it was a pike as it had teeth.

Years later I was feeding sausages (don't ask) to fish in the Red Sea and got savaged by a Parrot Fish. I'm really fucked off with fish these days.

HeronLanyon · 26/12/2018 16:17

Chardonnay - good advice. Will keep it in mind should the confirmation of the not dog and not mince pie be reversed, unexpectedly, at any stage Wink

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 26/12/2018 16:19

Well, I can confirm my dogs are safe from mince pies, because I just ate the last one. I did it because it's my duty to keep the dogs safe so I couldn't keep such dangerous items round the house.

MrsTommyBanks · 26/12/2018 16:20

I can confirm there is a dog, on the sofa I am lying on. Tucked up behind my knees.
I luffs her.
She would have been straight into the water in her younger days. Hearding geese.

Sallygoroundthemoon · 26/12/2018 16:21

I can confirm that there is a cat on my couch. She has been there some time. She has no plans to go to Bourton.

MrsTommyBanks · 26/12/2018 16:21

@NicoAndTheNiners Flowers
For your trauma.

NicoAndTheNiners · 26/12/2018 16:23

Thank you. I have ptsd.

XmasPostmanBos · 26/12/2018 16:27

I can confirm you are allowed to feed the fish at the garden centre aquarium but it may not be a good idea for Nico

MrsTommyBanks · 26/12/2018 16:28

@NicoAndTheNiners me too. Geese are viscous.

HeronLanyon · 26/12/2018 16:29

Will no one think of the pannetone? I confirm I have eaten quite remarkable amounts toasted and slathered in butter just to protect my 3 not dogs from the dried fruit therein.

blueskiesandforests · 26/12/2018 16:30

I have a vague memory of standing by a river talking to someone in a houseboat who claimed that at some time in the past their miniature poodle had been eaten by a fish in the river... Did it really happen?
