Only a few days into the holidays and already I am annoyed with them not getting dressed. I'm not insisting on early mornings and getting dressed straight away but surely it's not unreasonable to be washed and dressed by lunch time??

There will probably be a day or two where one or either of them stays in their pyjamas. We both work full time so kids are up and out early to minders every week day morning and have sports at the weekends so if they want a day to potter around in their jammies I won't mind.

LBOCS2 · 24/12/2018 11:14

My two year old has been running about naked for the last three hours so I'd consider pyjamas to be a win in this instance.

Unless you're leaving the house or it's an event, I really can't see the fuss to be honest.

DogMamma · 24/12/2018 11:16

I'm with @LBOCS2 my dss 11 Saunders abiut in just boxers mostly so pjs would deffo be a winner Grin

ds(14) has never lounged about in PJ's all day unless ill, but during the holidays it might be nearer lunchtime before he is up and showered/dressed.

He has always been out most days since very young (rain or snow), even if it is just to walk the dog.

Justgivemesomepeace · 24/12/2018 11:25

Nope. I dont feel like the day has started unless im dressed and i always get ds(6) sorted at the same time. Dd is 16 and i just leave her to her own devices. Shes usually sorted by lunchtime. Shes cooking pasta in her pj's at the moment though.

RebelWitchFace · 24/12/2018 12:49

Yes.

Sirzy · 24/12/2018 12:51

Pjs are ds comfort thing so If he is in the house he will be in pjs normally.

I get dressed every day and can’t stand lounging in pjs. But everyone is different and I don’t see why I force something like that

BringOnTheScience · 24/12/2018 12:52

No lunch until you're dressed here ... but I'm often as bad as the teens!

Fatted · 24/12/2018 12:53

If we're not leaving the house, then generally I just let them loaf around in their Pj's all day.

ChodeofChodeHall · 24/12/2018 12:54

DS likes to chill in his PJs most of the time and I pretty much let him.

neversleepagain · 24/12/2018 12:54

Yes, if they want to they can stay in their pjs all day long.

jessstan2 · 24/12/2018 12:55

How old? Past a certain age I never interfered in what was worn or not but don't remember PJs all day. I'm sitting here in mine at the moment for a change.

Pyjamaface · 24/12/2018 12:57

We are in pyjamas as much and as long as possible in my house. We sleep naked though so they are more like lounge wear than actual pjs

Playdonut · 24/12/2018 13:03

If you are taking them out then they will get dressed. If you are lucky enough to have calm children who can cope with staying st home all day, I don't see the problem with them staying in pyjamas.

GypsyRoseTea · 24/12/2018 13:06

I do t get dressed unless I’m going out so don’t expect the kids to!

twosoups1972 · 24/12/2018 13:07

Find it a bit depressing not to be dressed unless ill.

I'm happy with some lounging about and general chilling but the problem with this time of year is the days are short, if we want to go out for a walk etc it has to be done early-ish before it gets dark.

itbemay · 24/12/2018 13:09

My 13yo ds hasn't got dressed since Friday, he's had a shower and clean pjs but he's chilling, no point in getting dressed- more washing for me!

PeakBrexit · 24/12/2018 13:10

No. DD can have a lie-in but after breakfast, it's shower and clothes.

And I hate pyjamas being shortened to PJs or jammies!

Johnnycomelately1 · 24/12/2018 13:11

So he hasn’t left the house for 4 days??

redsummershoes · 24/12/2018 13:11

no. because we stay with relatives we go outside for walk or to the parks at least twice a day to escape washing up duties run off the chocolates.

BlackCatSleeping · 24/12/2018 13:14

If I’m home all day I stay in my pyjamas. Obviously I do get dressed if I go out. My kids are the same.

Stoneagemum · 24/12/2018 13:14

Why make more washing!

RebelWitchFace · 24/12/2018 13:19

If we go out, we put the pyjamas back on once home.Grin

missmouse101 · 24/12/2018 13:22

Pyjamas are for bedtime here. Up, showered and dressed for the day.

twosoups1972 · 24/12/2018 13:24

I'm clearly in the minority here! Personally I don't think it's healthy to stay in for days on end without any fresh air or exercise.
