My dad used to put splashes of food colouring in lemonade. Obviously in a simpler time but it made us feel like we had something a bit novel

legalseagull · 23/12/2018 20:23

Apple fizz. Apple juice, ginger beer little bit of cinnamon.

Ignore the previous buzz kill poster.

Tefiti2 · 23/12/2018 20:26

Lemonade and Popaballs always goes down a treat here!

DonaldDucksTowel · 23/12/2018 20:28

Lots of mini umbrellas, curly straws and those sparkly things, they won’t mind what they’re drinking as long as it looks fun

BrieAndChilli · 23/12/2018 20:30

Grenadine always add a interesting twist to normal drinks

MrsScrubbingbrush · 23/12/2018 20:30

Orange juice, lemonade & Grenadine.

PearlandRubies194 · 23/12/2018 20:32

Cranberry juice in ice cubes, freeze then put them in glasses of lemonade. Rub a packet of popping candy or crushed candy canes around a rim and decorate with little umbrella!

FATEdestiny · 23/12/2018 20:32

A scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of a glass of cream soda

Apple and orange juice mixed tastes nice.

Shop bought mulled fruit punch

Squash made with lemonade/soda instead of water

Cherries101 · 23/12/2018 20:33

It depends on the age of the kids. If really young / babies, it’s best to stick with water and milk (you could try brightening the milk with a little rose or orange blossom water). If older then pink lemonade is always a treat.

50ShadesOfWTF · 23/12/2018 20:33

Sprite, orange juice or squash and cherry juror squash. Taste a bit like Parma violets

Celebelly · 23/12/2018 20:33

Raspberry cordial like in Anne of Green Gables!

MalcolmsBrokenWalrusMoneybox · 23/12/2018 20:35

Anything with a slice of lemon stuck on!

EduCated · 23/12/2018 20:36

Grenadine poured down the side of orange juice (basically a tequila sunrise sans the tequila).

Fruit frozen into ice cubes.

redexpat · 23/12/2018 20:36

Traffic light: orange juice. Drop a tiny bit of green food colouring down the side and grenadine on top.

Or a pina colada. Pineapple juice and coconut milk.

PatPhoenix · 23/12/2018 20:39

Buy a few different bottles of fizz and juice and let them mix their own? They come up with some surprisingly nice ones, it's just usually they forget what they've put in...

DumbledoresApprentice · 23/12/2018 20:40

Vanilla syrup, grenadine and soda water makes a lovely cream soda.

Raspberry syrup, lime juice and a dash of pineapple juice shaken with ice and then poured into a glass and topped up with more pineapple juice is delicious and very pretty. It looks a bit like a tequila sunrise.

A teaspoon of cane sugar syrup with a few dashes of angostura bitters and soda water is lovely, there’s just a tiny amount of alcohol from the bitters. It’s quite a nice grown up drink for an older child.

I see spaghettipeppers is really entering into the spirit of Christmas fun Grin

In Holland they have a thing called kinder champagne. It's just pop in odd flavours like bubble gum or strawberry but it's in a champagne bottle with a cork so it seems much more exciting. I wish they did it here

watermelonmartini · 23/12/2018 20:46

Mango and guava juices layered with coconut milk

canigetaliein · 23/12/2018 20:49

I used to feel incredible sophisticated swanning around my parents christmas soirées with a coke float complete with umbrella & flamingo #gottalovethe80s

LittleLlamaontheduskyroad · 23/12/2018 21:03

My DC always make a mixture of all the squashes we've got in our cupboards.

I do orange juice & lemonade occasionally, they like it.

kaytee87 · 23/12/2018 21:08

Not sure why you'd make copies of alcoholic drinks for children. Talk about glamourising alcohol.

Water, milk, diluted juice?

FoggyNelson · 23/12/2018 21:12

Costco do sparkling fruit juices in champagne-type bottles, which are absolutely lovely! Or, just buy an assortment of fruit juices and fizzy drinks, then pop then on a table with ice, straws, fruit slices and paper umbrellas. Kids love making their own.
