Have I got the ugliest Christmas tree in Britain?

Only three of us for Christmas this year, so thought I’d opt for one of the tiny £10 trees from the supermarket when they were selling them 3 weeks ago.

Now I don’t know if they’re actually miniature trees or just branches cut from giant ones, but every single mini tree I saw was perfect and Christmas tree-shaped.... except for the one DD bought to surprise me with. It’s more of a bush than a tree, and in the middle where the tallest branch should be, there’s a sort of hollow bowl bit. It stayed outside for 2 weeks while I sulked then DD brought it in and decorated it before going off to New York. That was 10 days ago and I still hate the bloody thing.

Please make me feel better and tell me you despise it too Xmas Shock

Oh wow. That is one... interesting... looking tree 😬

It'll certainly provide a talking point if you have any guests over Grin

hidinginthenightgarden · 23/12/2018 17:58

Yeah it looks a bit shit. Sorry OP Flowers

isseywithcats · 23/12/2018 17:59

it needs some tinsel to fill in the gaps the deccies are a bit sparse

It's got great character, OP. You will remember this Christmas forever as the one where you had the strange-looking tree.

lucysmam · 23/12/2018 18:00

Give it a trim so it's a bit more tree shaped?

Justincase87 · 23/12/2018 18:00

Oh bless - it's trying its best!

Santasushi · 23/12/2018 18:00

It’s cute and quirky!

Kemer2018 · 23/12/2018 18:01

I'd have to trim that tree.

BigSandyBalls2015 · 23/12/2018 18:01

Yep you’ve one that comp Grin

BigSandyBalls2015 · 23/12/2018 18:01

Won!

Bababoo13 · 23/12/2018 18:02

We have lights and igglepiggle top and dc constantly take any baubles of Hmm

Holidayshopping · 23/12/2018 18:03

I’m confused-did you buy it yourself three weeks ago or did DD surprise you with it? Or are there two trees?

safariboot · 23/12/2018 18:03

The tree probably thinks you're ugly too :-P

bibbitybobbityyhat · 23/12/2018 18:05

Oh dear! I'm sorry to say I agree - that is a bit dismal Xmas Sad.

Craftycorvid · 23/12/2018 18:05

Aw! Reminds me of the year 7 or8-year-old me brought home a stray ‘bit’ of xmas tree I’d found and it duly got decorated and displayed. Minor victory on my part: DM hates xmas with passion (all her top dislikes in one convenient package: entertaining people, cooking and trimming up). Consequently we never had more than a tiny fake tree. Your tree is a fine tree, OP! Enjoy.

TartedUpYard · 23/12/2018 18:06

Yes. Yes you have.

LEMtheoriginal · 23/12/2018 18:06

Its fine - the lights look shit though

groundcontroltomontydon · 23/12/2018 18:19

It's doing it's own Christmas thing. I like that in a tree. I think it could carry off a hat.

Monday55 · 23/12/2018 18:27

looks more like a bush than a tree...

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 23/12/2018 18:29

Grin It looks angry to me.

BiteyShark · 23/12/2018 18:29

This thread has cheered me up. Yes it's ugly Grin.

Throw tinsel at it would be my advice.

Joinourclub · 23/12/2018 18:31

It is the runt of the litter, but it has character!

SockEatingMonster · 23/12/2018 18:31

I quite like it Blush

But then mine is basically a 7.5ft version of it (DS ‘felt sorry’ for it...)

BlueCheese23 · 23/12/2018 18:33

If the decorations mean something, it's lovely!

If not, its not bad apart from the lights and gaps and wonkiness

FoonaLagoonaBaboona · 23/12/2018 18:37

If you've got the ugliest I got the bloody smelliest!!! It has starting ponging today and it's making me feel ill 🤮
