Have I got the ugliest Christmas tree in Britain?

Only three of us for Christmas this year, so thought I’d opt for one of the tiny £10 trees from the supermarket when they were selling them 3 weeks ago.

Now I don’t know if they’re actually miniature trees or just branches cut from giant ones, but every single mini tree I saw was perfect and Christmas tree-shaped.... except for the one DD bought to surprise me with. It’s more of a bush than a tree, and in the middle where the tallest branch should be, there’s a sort of hollow bowl bit. It stayed outside for 2 weeks while I sulked then DD brought it in and decorated it before going off to New York. That was 10 days ago and I still hate the bloody thing.

Please make me feel better and tell me you despise it too

Omg that is a horrible tree! I don’t think it can be saved sorry, I would just chuck it.

That’s has made me fiddle, yep it’s bloody ugly, like a giant angry spider but I actually like it as it makes me laugh 😂

We had a shit one the year DD1 was born. I usually go all out for Christmas but it was 2 weeks before my EDD and I couldn't be arsed to get things down from the loft. So I sent dh out to get a small tree and a box of assorted baubles why the did. And it was shit.

You could be right about that... it hasn’t dropped a single needle, despite being carelessly and cruelly placed near a radiator. I’m worried it’s almost indestructible, like a cockroach.

Have you got it the right way up?

Trim the sticky-out branches so it becomes more Christmas tree shaped. Put on a better set of lights, maybe more? Also, put on some tinsel or gold beads to give it a bit of oomph and a few more decs - a nice set of baubles or something. It’s a perfectly good tree it just needs a bit of tlc.

I don’t know the wonky donkey song, sadly, but when DD brought it home I sung every Christmas song I could think of, substituting the word tree with bush.

Ah... I had a tiny real tree a few years ago. I trimmed the top branches and shaped it because it had one long sticky up top bit.
But go steady and with caution!
