I add, either in my head or out loud (like just now) "persil grips the grease so it can't get back on the plate".
DD has told me I'm odd.

Malcolm was a man not a child

EeeSheWasThin · 24/12/2018 18:27

stealth we thought it was Maureen Lipman but it’s not

dogzdinner · 24/12/2018 18:27

Timothy was Ronnie Corbett in Sorry

EeeSheWasThin · 24/12/2018 18:28

dogz I’d forgotten it was a man 😀

Angeliki159 · 24/12/2018 18:33

DH and I both do these ones:

"It's 1 oclock" - and all's well or in all of wales. (DH always thought it was "in all of wales)
If anyone says "donkey" we both say "aww, lovely donkey"
"What day is it?" - why it's Christmas!!

StealthPolarBear · 24/12/2018 19:02

Maureen lip man told everyone about her son with the 'ology, right?

Where do we go from here?

Is it down to the lake I fear....

Every time. I've even done it in meetings!

Dafspunk · 24/12/2018 19:44

I’m never just confused, always confused dot com

YoungLennyGodber · 24/12/2018 19:46

I have no idea what anyone’s taking about...

CremeDeSudo · 24/12/2018 19:52

I love this thread - genuinely lol'd so many times!

Yes to 'What time is it?' (It's time for lunch!)

I'll add:

DS5 '. ..forever' ('and ever, amen')

'Here I am' ('rock you like a hurricaaaaane!')

I'm sure I have more. I do this A LOT.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 24/12/2018 19:57

This is strongly reminding me of a few weeks ago when DS2 was telling me about the Warhammer figures he'd been painting. He described one of them as Mr Beggar-Man. I yelled "Shabba!", he got proper cross and didn't speak to me for about 4 hours 😂

XmasPostmanBos · 24/12/2018 20:04

Are you with me?
No I'm with the Woolwich

Remember as my dd says there's no such thing as a Mum joke, and you're not funny.

StealthPolarBear · 24/12/2018 20:07

one of them as Mr Beggar-Man. I yelled "Shabba!",
:o

PuppyMonkey · 24/12/2018 20:10

We also do “is it down to the lake I fear.” GrinGrin

StealthPolarBear · 24/12/2018 20:35

I'd do that except no one seems to say that to me!
Am playing the song, excellent!

Knittedfairies · 24/12/2018 20:36

‘Language, Timothy’ was from the sitcom ‘Sorry’. Barbara Lott played the mum.

MsLexic · 24/12/2018 22:37

'I've just realise that everyone I say "you see" '

what?

StealthPolarBear · 24/12/2018 23:26

im a sucker for peter kaye and his 'garlic bread' 'cheesecake' and 'its that fine rain' responses.

But I also sing 'oh dear, what can the matter be'
I've got the key
on and on and ariston

seeing the Toyota Aygo prompts 'ay, oh, lets go'

delboysskinandblister · 25/12/2018 01:55

OP Yes there was a definite ''grips the grease and holds it in the water so it can't get back on the plate'' what's weirder OP is that you have raised something that was in my head two nights ago standing at the sink washing up if the dishwasher hadn't packed up I wouldn't have this quirk

others i repeat around the house are singing

'make room for the mush-ROOMS!'
and eggs 'fast food and good for your'

Greensleeves · 25/12/2018 02:37

I said "you're a secret lemonade drinker" to ds2 the other day.

He gave me a withering look and said "You're old, mum."

delboysskinandblister · 25/12/2018 02:44

''Malcolm, people will always need plates'

MrsMoastyToasty · 25/12/2018 07:59

"He's got an ology" is another favourite.

StealthPolarBear · 25/12/2018 08:04

It was her grandson actually wasn't it. Him with the ology
