I add, either in my head or out loud (like just now) "persil grips the grease so it can't get back on the plate".
DD has told me I'm odd.

Yes I remember the skeleton :) why was he a skeleton - was it suggesting he'd watched his video for so long he had in fact died?
I don't remember all these numbers people keep saying

Bluesheep8 · 24/12/2018 08:11

I thought crackerjack was "It's Friday, it's 5 o clock" I'm 45 and say this every Friday Blush

Bluesheep8 · 24/12/2018 08:14

And if I swear at work, one of my more senior colleagues says "Language, Timothaaaaaaay" every time.

Singlenotsingle · 24/12/2018 08:17

DD is right. You're odd. Move on.

BishopstonFaffing · 24/12/2018 08:19

Bluesheep- my 8 yr old DS does this. He must have picked it up from one of us when he was little. Gets some odd looks when he does it in public.

EeeSheWasThin · 24/12/2018 08:21

I say “Course you can Malcolm” and Ariston and on and on. I also do the “me and my dog Henry like minced morsels” line quite often if we have mince. DSDs think I’m weird.

@thebigmaniswatching I would definitely say “who are they?” in a really bad accent 😂

Stealth I don’t remember yours though!

Bluesheep8 · 24/12/2018 08:23

Bishpston And he's 8? That's brilliant!

Hermie12 · 24/12/2018 08:25

Skeleton - Scotch video Re Re Record not fade away....god I’m sad

treaclesoda · 24/12/2018 08:30

I remember the skeleton. He sort of clapped along to 're-record, not fade away' didn't he?

mirren3 · 24/12/2018 08:41

@widgetbeana we do the donkey one too, but when DS was wee he used to say "dat'll do, donkey, dat'll do" so that's what we still say. He's 30 now so it's lasted well.

Chimchar · 24/12/2018 08:52

We always do the 'course you can malcom'. What was it from?!

And if I ever say "I wish I'd brought my coat/brolly/bag etc" dh always chirps in with "ill get it grandad!" Grin

RustyBear · 24/12/2018 08:58

@Bluesheep8 - Crackerjack was at 5 o’clock at various times, presumably including when you were watching. And when I started watching, it was on a Thursday.

When I hear ‘Thank you very much, I always mentally add ‘for the Aintree Iron’. I’ve been doing it for about 50 years now, and I still don’t know what the Aintree Iron is/was.

RedForShort · 24/12/2018 08:58

Dont think your that weird. Bit It's quite a long phrase to think!!

I have "I've got the secret", in response to "I've got the key." Also the response "have you got the secret(s)" if I'm as "do you have the key(s)?" (Because 'I've got the key" isn't uttered that frequently.)

Though I say it out loud.

MrsMoastyToasty · 24/12/2018 09:09

DH has a habit of saying "Armadillos" whenever celeb chefs on TV say that a dish is crunchy . (Dime bar adverts featuring Harry Enfield).

KlutzyDraconequus · 24/12/2018 09:10

My 5yo DD:
"Dad, Do you remember when.."
"We used to sing, sha la la la la la"

My 5Yo DD:
"Dad, Have you ever.."
"Ever felt like this? How strange things happen, are you going round the twist?"

She gets quite annoyed with me.. I don't know why.

TheRhythmessCarolMan · 24/12/2018 09:11

That'll do (, pig... That'll do)

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 24/12/2018 09:18

"I can't stand it!" Uttered by someone reminds me of
You can stand it with Bandit, it won't let you down
Sung by Mexican bandits in a chocolate wafer ad.

'course you can malcolm' was from a nasal spray ad!

Kittenrush · 24/12/2018 09:21

It took me forever to work out what this meant but I’m with you now.
I always add ‘and don’t call me Shirley’
Anytime anyone says surely
Just to make you feel a bit less odd Grin

RustyBear · 24/12/2018 09:25

My response to ‘crunchy’ is ‘if you took the bones out it wouldn’t be crunchy’ (Monty Python, Crunchy Frog)

What's the plan Stan?
(paraphrase 50 ways to leave your lover)

Yes to the scotch videos.
Re record not fade away

Ladytinselmuff · 24/12/2018 11:22

"Thank you very much"- I add - for being my grandma Xmas Grin
Also: nice one! (Cyril)

Ladytinselmuff · 24/12/2018 11:24

"I don't believe it!" Always replays in my head as "I don't belieeeeve it!"

helpfulperson · 24/12/2018 11:25

Don't know that ad you refer to but certainly do the Crackerjack ones and also any time pea and ham soup is mentioned gets the 'fae a chicken, now that's clever' response.
