What age did your child go into 12 to 18 month clothes?

DS is 14 months and still not in his 12 to 18 month clothes comfortably. He tends to fit the tops but the trousers are really long! Before now he was always in correct age to size clothes despite being 5 weeks early.

Ds went into the age category about 2-4 weeks early every time. Even now he is the same. Outgrows his wardrobe a month before his birthday.
DD was in 18-24 month clothes at age 11months but stayed in them for a year!

Depends on the shop- my 16month old has been in 18months + bottoms for a couple of months. Her primark leggings 18months are skin tight. She had a cardigan from John Lewis 0-3 months that she wore until a year old. She has a John Lewis jumpsuit 9-12 months that is still too baggy

My daughter was about 2 and my son 18 months. Both teeny tots.

My DS is 17 months and has only just started going into 12-18 clothing and even now some of it is way too big.

DD (3 years) was in 12-18 at 11 months.

I found with my 4 kids that they'll stay in one particular size band for so much longer than another. So DS stayed in 9-12 for almost a year! It's only this week I've started taking last winters clothes out of his drawers and replacing them with some 12-18 months.

LLGreenJ · 23/12/2018 10:11

John Lewis clothes are huge! The boots clothes seem to fit him ok

Tops a week or two ‘early’ trousers 6-18 months behind! Little legs!

Ratbagratty · 23/12/2018 10:13

Dd1 went into 12 months at about 20months old and has only just come out of them at almost 3yr old.

Dd2 will go into at 12mnths (and wearing a few bits now at 11mnths)!

Picklepickle123 · 23/12/2018 10:14

DS is 18 months and still on 9-12m sizing! He's diddy!

TK1930 · 23/12/2018 10:16

Now at 10 months Smile

ipswichwitch · 23/12/2018 10:17

With my oldest he was over 2y before he went into 12-18m clothes. He’d always go up a size in tops before bottoms - quite often remaining in the size below for bottoms for some time. He was very small for a long time, and his legs were weeny! He’s now 7 and in some 5-6y but mostly 6-7 clothes, and the same size top and bottom: he seemed to have a massive leg growth spurt at about 4.5y so he’s in proportion now!

Younger son hasn’t always worn the same size as his age. He’s always been bang on the 50th centile.

LLGreenJ · 23/12/2018 10:17

He's got a 12 to 18 month suit from mamas and papas for Xmas day let's hope it fits

ipswichwitch · 23/12/2018 10:17

Youngest son has always worn and size as age

CrazyOldBagLady · 23/12/2018 10:18

My 13 month is currently looking comfortable in his 9-12 month items still. He's only 25th centile in height and not particularly tubby

PeachesandPie · 23/12/2018 10:33

Still waiting for my 14 month dd to need to go up to 12-18! She went into 9-12 at 9 months so has had lots of wear out of her clothes but they're all looking a bit stained and tired now so need her to grow a bit really!

Spaceman101 · 23/12/2018 11:18

My little boy is 3.5yrs old and still wears 12-18 month clothing 😂

Sirzy · 23/12/2018 11:24

Ds has always been 2 sizes “behind” on the whole. Still is now at age 9

INeedNewShoes · 23/12/2018 11:27

DD is 19m and still mostly wearing 9-12, even 6-9 in a few things. She's always been at least one sizing category behind though.

OddestSock · 23/12/2018 11:39

About 18 months for my first & 2 years for my second. They're still small now. My oldest is 8.5 and wears 6-7, and youngest is 7 and wears 4-5.

Surfskatefamily · 23/12/2018 11:40

My boy is tall and was in them from 8months. Theyre all different. Get him weighed and measured at hv if you are concerned

stealthbanana · 23/12/2018 11:42

DS is tall but skinny and has always been 3/6 months behind (so he’s now 2 and still fits some of his 12-18months stuff nicely).

Sizing also varies massively between shops. H&M is the worst offender I’ve found - their jumpers are MASSIVE.

BitOfAKerfuffle · 23/12/2018 12:10

My 2 and a half year old is still wearing 12-18 and some 18-24 month clothes ! She was a bit early but only by 4 and a bit weeks

Whatamuddleduck · 23/12/2018 12:20

DD will be 8 months at the end of the month and wears a few 12-18 month bits! She’s quite tubby! I often have to rolll sleeves and legs up an inch but she doesn’t fit into many 9-12 month things. Cloth bum doesn’t help!

TillyTheTiger · 23/12/2018 12:23

Around 8m but he's always been very tall and solid. He's been in age 3-4 clothes since just after turning 2!

Fizzyhedgehog · 23/12/2018 12:51

At about 8 months. DS is on the 98th centile for both height and weight, though. He's been in 2-3 year clothes since he was about 20 months.

PennyMordauntsLadyBrain · 23/12/2018 12:56

Dd has always been ready for the next age band in line with her age- she’s 50th centile for weight and 75th for height.

We still have a few 6-9 month vests that fit though, but mainly because her limbs seem to grow like weeds but her torso hasn’t!
