What age did your child go into 12 to 18 month clothes?

DS is 14 months and still not in his 12 to 18 month clothes comfortably. He tends to fit the tops but the trousers are really long! Before now he was always in correct age to size clothes despite being 5 weeks early.

My son is 2yrs 2mths and just going into 12-18.
He was a tiny 36 weaker though and has struggled with weight gain his whole life. He’s a scrawny little thing.

I read somewhere that baby clothes are manufactured with “Mr Average” in mind - so a baby around the 50th centile for height and weight at each age group.
My son will always be in a smaller size, as he’s barely clinging onto his growth chart let alone being on 50th centile!

Dc1 and 2 both at 12months
Dc3 was in 12-18 months at about 6months
Dc4 was around 14 months but the trousers had to be rolled up.

DS is like your child. He is 21 months and the legs of some of his 12-18 months trousers are only fitting now, but some of his tops are 2-3 years. He had DH's physique, all torso.

Dn is 8 and still fits into 12-18 mths or 18-24 mths clothes — she’s too tall for them, but they fit. She’s recently inherited a puffer jacket from another 18mth old dn and it looks like a cropped jacket but nice.

About 18 months. He was always mostly a side behind. He was over 2 and a half before he moved o to 18-24 and they are still big at nearly 3

At 20/21 months. He’s 9th centile.

Dd1 around 2 years 1 month (preemie), Dd2 10months (gannet)
