Weirdest gift request

I just wondered if you'd had any jaw dropping requests for Christmas gifts?

Be that odd, hugely expensive, massively unreasonable or just plain funny?

Not recently, but one year when no2 son was about six, all he wanted was "a clock and a shark"!
It turned out that he meant a plain blue big standard kitchen wall clock too.
In the end he got the clock and a diver action man with a shark.

When my daughter was little she wanted a rainbow for Christmas. A real rainbow. In the house I might add, not outside. Smile

RJnomore1 · 23/12/2018 04:40

Aw double I hope you got her one of those crystal things that throw rainbows

A pink frog. On their santa list aged About 3. About 5 days before Christmas, so no chance of finding one.

AnonymousAgain · 23/12/2018 04:50

My eldest (3) asked DM to bring him back a furry aeroplane from her summer holiday this year 😂

Doublevodka · 23/12/2018 05:08

RJ, we actually did get her one of those crystal things! My mum came up with that idea and my DD was pretty happy!

RJnomore1 · 23/12/2018 05:11

😁

bridgetosomewhere · 23/12/2018 06:11

Her own elf....that confused the hotel Santa yesterday. He said but how will I make all my toys if I give all my elves away. They would be so sad to leave their homes.

Dd looked confused - she wants her own elf on the shelf to keep.....!

Well that's what I think she wants?!

Mintylizzy9 · 23/12/2018 06:14

My four year old wants the tipping point game and is insistent that Santa will bring it!

Santasshoe · 23/12/2018 06:17

My 8 yr old wants post-it notes this year.

LoudestRoar · 23/12/2018 06:19

Frozen roast potatoes for my 6 year old....

6demandingchildren · 23/12/2018 06:36

When my youngest was about 7 he wanted an easy bake oven!!!!

MrsScamander · 23/12/2018 06:56

Not weird, but unreasonable. DD asked for Sylvanian families. 4 days before Christmas when I'm all spent up and have no time for last minute shopping Angry

We argued as she insisted she put it on her list (the one she handed in to Santa a month ago!) but she didn't.

Have explained that Santa has many boys and girls to get presents for so sometimes she won't get everything but if she can behave for the next 9 months she can get some for her birthday Grin

LeonoraFlorence · 23/12/2018 10:27

Mrs Scamamder you can get the Sylvanian cosy cottage for £15 most places these days. It comes with a character I’m sure too!

CurcubitaPepo · 23/12/2018 11:48

Nephew (14) has a pair of £200 headphones on his amazon wish list.

He was quite disappointed when grandad told him that there was no chance he was buying them.

And it was a no from us too.

Afonavon · 23/12/2018 11:56

The Tipping point game is THE most shite game ever!

DS (aged8) had asked Santa for paint, however we discovered on Christmas Eve that it was a tin of paint for his wall that he wanted, cue a rush to B&Q to mix up the shade of paint he wanted. It was his favourite present that year, and his bedroom still has it on its walls years later.

DonaldDucksTowel · 23/12/2018 11:59

My 7 year old wants blu tak Hmm

dancinfeet · 23/12/2018 12:05

Curling tongs from my 18 year old. Now this may not seem odd, but she has beautiful ringlets already (she is mixed race) which she pays to have straightened, which she then tongs into curls. Bizarre, but apparently essential.

Sparklfairy · 23/12/2018 12:08

Psycho serum (Google it)

JellySlice · 23/12/2018 12:19

My 16yo dd has asked for Postit notes every year since she started school!

So this year she's got a multipack of four different shapes from Costco, a pack of Chinese 'waving kitty' ones, and a pack of funky fish page-marker ones. Grin

She's also getting 'proper' presents!

StrongerThanIThought76 · 23/12/2018 12:24

2 years ago my dd wanted sellotape.

I'm the kind of person who is all over that sort of wish..... For ages i was peeling all sorts of patterned tape off EVERYTHING

We're still using it now!

HotInWinter · 23/12/2018 12:26

I'm sure I'm not the only one, but a baby sister has been requested here. It's not happening -and he's old enough to know I'm not pregnant and due in the next few days.

Ahardmanisgoodtofind · 23/12/2018 12:34

A cloud from DD. A proper cloud. My dsil has downs, about three years ago her Christmas list consisted of many expensive things (laptop, tv) and tippex. This year she's asked for a trip to NYC with one of her dbro.

LittleScottieDog · 23/12/2018 13:49

I once asked, aged about 7, for a date stamp like they use in libraries, with the twisty dials so you can make any date, so I could pretend I worked in a library. I put pieces of paper in all my books and would happily spend time stamping them all.

MrsTommyBanks · 23/12/2018 14:04

Many years ago. A blue digger.
Eventually found one in Basildon Early learning centre on Christmas Eve.
Was living in East London at the time, pre internet.
That was a real 'good Mum' moment.
