I mean think we’re equal, great, don’t objectify usnor take advantage of us. Just thoroughly like us as a sex.

For me, I get good vibes from Jason Momoa, George Clooney, Andrew Lincoln and the guy who plays Black Panther.

SayNoToCarrots... T'was long before his rise to fame, back in the day when he was a young hot shot lawyer.

VillanellesHairPin · 24/12/2018 22:58

A MNer said Anthony Joshua was really good in bed

Missingstreetlife · 24/12/2018 23:01

Densely washington, Jonathan Ross in spite of Manuel gate. Both always respectful to their wives.

Missingstreetlife · 24/12/2018 23:19

Denzel, spellcheck

mmmgoats · 24/12/2018 23:35

glad to see Chris Evans (captain America) getting the love here he’s very outspoken on women’s issues and rights - his Twitter is an interesting read!

also Adam Buxton, Keanu obviously, Terry Crews, Andy Sandburg and Andy Murray but I think they’ve all been mentioned.

EachandEveryone · 24/12/2018 23:45

Elvis Costello surely.

JamieVardysHavingAParty · 25/12/2018 01:26

Ed Byrne

SylvanianFrenemies · 25/12/2018 02:15

Oh not Johnathon Ross! He's such a sleaze. Him trying to talk to Jay-Z about Beyonce's butt is ingrained on my mind as a complete cringe fest. So disrespectful and belittling.

catlady3 · 25/12/2018 02:58

Joss Whedon of Buffy fame?

SapphireSeptember · 25/12/2018 03:23

Stephen Colbert
Russell Howard
Alan Rickman
Terry Pratchett

GunpowderGelatine · 25/12/2018 03:28

Andy Murray on numerous occasions has called out sexism in press conferences - mainly when a reporter says "how does it feel to be the first tennis player to score a billion runs" (disclaimer: i k ow nothing of tennis) Andy: I'm not, the Williams sisters did it before me. Love Andy

Barack Obama

Robert Webb, he is also gender critical

GunpowderGelatine · 25/12/2018 03:47

Ed Sheeran is 100% not a feminist. His 'Don't' song has lyrics about keeping your botch in check Hmm

GunpowderGelatine · 25/12/2018 03:48

*bitch 🤦🏼‍♀️

MidLifeCrisis2017 · 25/12/2018 04:02

Chris Martin comes across very well in Lill Allen's autobiography

Know someone who worked for Hugh Jackman, she adored him.

Lomondstripe · 25/12/2018 04:36

@Nononononono33 I do hope so! One of my all time faves - I certainly seems very respectful, of a little conservative (being religious) so not sure if he would consider himself a feminist. I hope so!

Perfectly1mperfect · 25/12/2018 04:54

So who have the mumsnet jury decided is okay? Are there any men left that you deem worthy? I know one of the celebs that have been mentioned on here. You had a problem with him. He is a good guy. You really can't be so quick to judge.

brizzledrizzle · 25/12/2018 05:08

Andy Murray, Tim Peake, Graham Lineham, the others would just be those I wanted to list.
God that's depressing.

brizzledrizzle · 25/12/2018 05:12

George Clooney is another one who who is so far in the closet that he’s vacationing with Mr Tumnus!

No idea about GC but that phrase is classic, consider it stolen.

graphista · 25/12/2018 06:05

I'm REALLY Struggling to think here. Does it have to be living celebs?

Cos I reckon George Michael and Alan rickman were good on this score.

Andy Murray I agree with. Patrick stewart too.

Russell Howard and Michael mcintyre

This one might surprise people (and I really hope I'm not disproved) but - Robert Patrick I've heard good things about.

https://www.news18.com/news/movies/have-you-read-robert-patricks-opinion-on-impact-of-metoo-movement-yet-1768075.html

"If George clooney really respected women he wouldn't advertise nestlé products" Yep! Plus wasn't he like mr playboy before marrying?

Did a spot of googling and found:

https://m.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/famous-male-feminists-men-support-womennn5564005?eccarp=6909128665524220053

I've heard good things about mark ruffalo too, also John legend,

Though wtf Louis Ck is doing on that list I don't know!!

Barack Obama and Dalai Lama are they too obvious?

"Nathan Fillion, because I remember seeing someone saying that 'he got real Canadian, real fast' when somebody was disrespectful towards women on the set of Firefly." Er...so the whole getting stana Katic fired and wrecking castle completely bypassed you then?

"All three of The Last Leg guys seem fairly normal towards women." I'd agree with that, Adam in particular I think is a decent bloke.

"Ryan Reynolds." Yes!

Keanu - of course!

"Graham Norton"? Er...no! He's constantly making disparaging remarks about women.

"Andy Murray has repeatedly brought attention to sexist questioning by journalists. Eg 'you're the first tennis player to do X' 'No I'm not, Serena Williams did X'. That sort of thing." This! He's very proactive on calling out the subtle everyday sexism that passes even many women by and stamps on it.

Matt Damon iirc made some shitty comments about #metoo

Yep

https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/films/news/metoo-matt-damon-taron-egerton-jason-bateman-henry-cavill-sean-penn-a8643286.html

Another thread favourite Henry cavill comes unstuck here too.

Off topic note - shocked & disappointed to see judi dench defended Kevin spacey!!

HotSauceCommittee · 25/12/2018 06:50

Prince: he always championed and worked with loads of female musicians who speak highly of him.
Kier Starmer: he is/was a QC, I think, and did a research paper on the rarity of false allegations of rape. A hero who “gets it” and whose actions speak louder than their words. Actually, that applies to Prince as well;neither of these two did loads of mealy-mouthed “I love and respect women and I’m really good to my mum” soundbites.
If anyone pulls that shit, I’m suspicious. I want cold, hard evidence.
My husband’s ex-boss and life time mentor (in academia; not a celeb, but I wanted to give you a good, true story) became a vice chancellor at a certain uni. He wasn’t there that long, took a look at all the salaries, saw the disparity between the men and women’s pay and gave all the women pay rises to balance it up.

It’s sad that there are so few names on this list.

steff13 · 25/12/2018 07:27

Mark Hamill - seems like he had a really warm and respectful friendship with Carrie Fisher

He's also been married to the same woman for 40 years, which I think is good.

steff13 · 25/12/2018 07:28

Lin Manuel Miranda

Nononononono33 · 25/12/2018 08:20

@Lomondstripe very interesting article re BF here - I hadn’t read this before: www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.qthemusic.com/articles/the-killers-brandon-flowers-fights-back-from-the-brink%3fformat=amp

HelloToJasonIsaacs · 25/12/2018 08:42

I’m afraid you really missed the memo on Joss Whedon catlady. His ex-wife dished the dirt and he came out of it very badly. Infidelity isn’t necessarily the worst thing in the world, but he had frequent affairs with young actresses who he had the power to hire and fire, and gaslighted his wife about it while simultaneously using her as a human shield to get feminist cookies (“look what a good bloke I am, I’m still married to an intelligent woman who I respect and haven’t run off with an underwear model”). And then whinging about how the patriarchy made him do it.

Plus the whole Charisma Carpenter debate.
