What are your Saturday plans?

Last Saturday before Christmas woohooo.

I was up at 6 had a brew and amsat on the couch staring into space lol.

Going to make DD2 breakfast, another cup of tea for me and then get dressed.

Got some tidying and sorting and need to nip out before we go to a friends for a little party for the children. Then it's home, throw something in the oven for tea and settle down for a night of Christmas movies and chills. Usually the Saturday before Christmas I'm rushing around doing everything but it's all done this year and I'm feeling very happy with that.

What are your plans for today?x

Bonkerz · 22/12/2018 08:04

Been up since 6 also. Plan today is take 7 year old for breakfast with Santa then I'm going to try and park in town to take kids cinema but we are not hopeful! Tonight I'm drinking gin in my local!

LouiseHumphreys81 · 22/12/2018 08:06

Off to London for the day! Taking boys to Transport Museum and checking out South bank Christmas Market!

IchFliegeNach · 22/12/2018 08:10

We are flying today so armouring myself to do battle with airport crowds accompanied by an excited pre-schooler and a newborn, plus all the associated paraphernalia!
The Gatwick drone issue has thrown a spanner in our already quite complicated works, so I am ready to fast forward to Christmas Eve and a large glass of wine with everyone in situ!
My parents' hallway looks like that airport scene in Love, Actually at Christmas.
Enjoy your day, all!

Theonewiththecat · 22/12/2018 08:11

Everyone here is still in bed.

We are going out for either breakfast or a coffee.
I need to nip to boots for a few bits
Have a quick tidy up at home
Get ready for Xmas party
Meet friend for pre drinks (3 hours before party starts)
Xmas party
Roll in drunk at some point in the early hours.

butteredbarmbrack · 22/12/2018 08:11

Flight this evening to Belfast, where we'll be for Christmas (luckily not Gatwick!) We've got a regular Saturday swimming lesson/gym session this morning, otherwise it's just packing and sorting the house before we head off. Glad not to have to worry about Christmas shopping or food buying, and we've left plenty of time for the drive to the airport and security so we can hopefully have a proper meal there and not be rushed.

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 22/12/2018 08:15

Nothing this morning then visiting friends this pm,Xmas films and wine tonight

LordPickle · 22/12/2018 08:18

My Christmas grocery delivery is coming today then we've got a family Christmas party this evening, but all my shopping is done.

Urbanbeetler · 22/12/2018 08:20

Just pootling and a curry. First day which isn’t 5am to 8pm full on work or responsibilities for weeks. I am so happy.

Queenofthedrivensnow · 22/12/2018 08:23

A rare child free eeekend for me. Dds are with exh. Just now I'm watching small island on iplayer on the iPad in bed. In an hour or so my student is picking me up to collect my car as she's doing something locally and it was our works drinks last night. I had ear marked this for ages as a rest day after and awful week with the dog trying to puke himself to death and me with a chest infection I can't shift. Later I will pop to lidl and have a bit of a tidy and walk the dog somewhere nice.
Planning to spend this afternoon and evening wrapping presents and watching tv Grin

Wellhellothere101 · 22/12/2018 08:24

Oooh I've got a lovely day planned. We went to see The Bodyguard last night and got home late so having a lie in this morning. Me, DH and DS (age 8) are going to see the new Mary Poppins film today at 12 then tonight I'm going to see Andre Rieu with my DM (her Christmas present from me) and friends with their mums. Can't wait!
Tomorrow we're going to see A Christmas Carol which is a classy panto/christmas show in a small theatre locally. Then we might go into town to the Christmas markets and see the lights.
Back to work on Monday.

agirlhasnonameX · 22/12/2018 08:24

Weather permitting DDs 11 and 3, DP and me are going to take the dog a walk along the beach and get a hot chocolate. Then maybe do some baking to try and occupy them, I will really need to give the house a good clean too and have a few bits to wrap. Then d&d tonight with my brother when 3yr old is in bed.
Normally rushing around this weekend so struggling to think of things to take up time and distract the kids from getting overexcited!

Napssavelives · 22/12/2018 08:24

Christmas food shopping

HTKS · 22/12/2018 08:24

Love this thread.

I am chilling in bed with a tea. DH is downstairs giving the children breakfast and then he’s taking them to soft play.

I will get up about 9 and have a “big shower” ( body scrub, shave, sort out pubes) then give myself a quick pedicure.

Part 1 of the Christmas shop is arriving between 10-11.

Take DS1 to a party at 1130

Dog walk later.

Spag Bol for dinner. TV tonight! Nice quiet day.

MysweetAudrina · 22/12/2018 08:27

Yoga at 9.30

Need to pop into town to pick up Dh's main present

Nothing much else planned.

GreenMeerkat · 22/12/2018 08:29

Busy day for us.

Breakfast with Santa 10-12, the DD2 has a birthday party until 3, then having friends over for a present swap, then the usual palaver of kids' teatime, bath and bed!

Then will probably watch a Christmas film with DH while looking after DS (9 weeks) in the evening.

Tomorrow we have NO plans for the first time in about 3 months on a weekend day so really looking forward to just chilling out all day (well, as much as you can chill out with two DDs (3 and 5) hyper and over excited for Christmas and a 9 week old baby Hmm)

gemdrop84 · 22/12/2018 08:30

Dh is hungover so he'll be in bed for a while but does have to surface soon as he is half way through doing the garden which we wanted finished before Christmas. I'm popping into town for a last minute shop (need table settings and some nice crackers!). Apart from that the usual washing, dog walking, dc refereeing & cleaning-Joy! Xmas Hmm I'm hoping for an afternoon nap today Xmas Wink I didn't sleep well and I'm feeling a bit emotional-missing my mum who loved Christmas Xmas Sad. Definitely having a Baileys tonight!

NoWordForFluffy · 22/12/2018 08:35

I'm on an emergency dash to Liverpool to Build a Bear to get a Snowman for DD who announced she'd love one while we were having a morning cuddle this morning. I wouldn't have bothered, except for the fact her younger brother has one in his presents and it'd cause all sorts of upset!

Then it's home to wrap DH's birthday presents for tomorrow and do a bit of Christmas baking. I finished the big clean yesterday, so that's already ticked off my list!

Soyalatteforme · 22/12/2018 08:35

I’ve got a horrid cold but need to get up as today is the last possible day before Christmas that I can use to get shit done!

Will drag myself up and get a cup of tea. Shower and dress. Can’t face food. DH will take DD riding.

Head to butchers for Christmas meat. Come home and start cleaning oven.

Go to local National Trust for a walk with DH and DD and hope the fresh air clears me out.

Back home to complete oven clean, marinade the ham, prepare and freeze veg for Tuesday and clean the fridge.

I’m going to squeeze in some tidying up too.

That’s the plan......

TheBaltictriangle · 22/12/2018 08:36

My new fridge arrived last night so that's plugged in. My supermarket delivery is coming mid morning so fridge should be cod enough for it go straight in.

I'm in bed contemplating whether to go to Marks or Iceland for the out of stock items. I can't be bothered tbh but trying to convince myself with a walk through xmas market to get hot chocolate & churros.

Dd still asleep, she didn't fall asleep until 11am last night so is going to be a prize nightmare today.

Roomarmoset · 22/12/2018 08:38

I'm currently sitting here holding my new born little munchkin, born last night at 7:21pm so just waiting to go home. No more Christmas shopping for me 🙈 but have the best Christmas present I could have wished for 💕

sm40 · 22/12/2018 08:39

Currently in bed with tea nursing small hangover!
Although have been out in pjs and dropped dh and ds to station. They have gone out for day.
So I am home alone with dd.
Will have more tea.
Tidy house.
Sort washing
Wait for Tesco man (or lady)
Pray he/she has all Xmas shopping
Go to watch mary poppins with dd
Go to Lidl to pick up what Tesco man (or lady) didn't bring
Get ready for festive drinks at house this eve.

WakeUpFromYourDreamAndScream · 22/12/2018 08:41

Congratulations @Roomarmoset what a lovely Christmas present 💝

Todamhottoday · 22/12/2018 08:45

I am just chilling with a cup of tea, enjoying being back in the UK!

May go to get some bits of food later, then wrap the few presents I have bought.

Getting logs delivered this afternoon so will have a nice roaring fire later.

Plan is then food, wine, and a Rocky film (had Christmas one last night)

Im really just blissfully happy to be home!
