DH and DS have had heavy coughs / colds for the past few days and DS has also had some vomiting and diarrhoea- not too bad though and he's been fine in himself (18mo). Well, last night at 7pm after feeling awful for a couple of hours, i started to vomit and could not stop - between 9pm-11pm I was throwing up every 10 minutes and then it went to hourly. Last sick at 6am. Arrggghh!!! I have no other symptoms apart from nausea and vomiting - but I have so much to do, feel shit, hardly slept and still being sick. Also TERRIFIED DS is going to get it and praying it's actually food poisoning rather than something contagious. Not really needing advice, more commiserations!! Currently sipping water and despairing at my to-do list!

I woke up 30 mins ago and have been to the loo 3 times already and now feeling queasy....
Thankfully I don’t have much to do today and DH is around but supposed to be out tonight.
Hope you’re better soon OP.

EleanorLavish · 22/12/2018 07:26

Make that 4....

BrieAndChilli · 22/12/2018 07:32

One year my sister came for xmas, my 1 year old newphew brought a sickness bug with him
By Boxing Day my sister, DH, newphew and my 3 kids aged 1, 3 and 5 at the time were all being sick.
It was left to me to run round cleaning up and trying to get them to be sick in bowls!!!
I still suffer flashbacks now!!!

adaline · 22/12/2018 08:22

I had it last weekend - my only thought was thank goodness it's this weekend and not next!

It was grim but I was fine after 48 hours.

jjsmum84 · 22/12/2018 08:25

Me and my DS have had it, I've been bedridden since Thursday night with sickness and diarrhoea....... I've got so much to do!!!!! 😫

SylvanianFrenemies · 22/12/2018 12:11

Same here. It's shit.

You do know you are highly infectious for 48hrs after symptoms stop? Don't ruin someone else's Christmas by spreading it round the shops. It's time to adjust expectations and do stuff online. You can get a lot of food stuff on Amazon Prime now if you can't get a normal delivery.

abcriskringle · 22/12/2018 12:17

I couldn't leave the house if I wanted to. Am alternating lying in bed and lying on the bathroom floor. DH has been armed with the list so hopefully he can sort stuff.

Have you been sick again? I was last sick yesterday and feel miles better today, hope you do soon too.

abcriskringle · 22/12/2018 13:14

Last sick just before 12 - well more dry heaving as there isn't anything left to come up. Sipping a re-hydration sachet now. Hopefully that helps.

Same thing happened to me two years ago. Sent DH to Tesco with very detailed list and instructions to ring me if what I'd written wasn't available so I could suggest alternatives! He did and all was fine. Was cooking Christmas dinner for the family. Thank goodness I was 48 hours over it by Christmas Day but I still felt really washed out. Hope it passes soon. Delegate anything you possibly can.

SylvanianFrenemies · 22/12/2018 13:31

Sounds like it might be improving. If have found that flat Coke Was really good for rehydrating, then I was desperate for crisps.

LucheroTena · 22/12/2018 13:34

Once you can face a drink, lucozade will be your friend.

HolgerLowCarbingLoser · 22/12/2018 13:41

All four of us had Norovirus over Christmas one year. It was hell.

Sympathies. Hope you all feel okay soon Xmas Smile

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 22/12/2018 13:43

I sympathise; I've got pneumonia and I don't think it's going to be anywhere near manageable before Christmas despite all my best efforts. My todo list has been insane for the past few weeks and I've managed to do none of it because I can't breathe.

I hope you start to feel better soon Thanks

Mrsemcgregor · 22/12/2018 13:44

I will join you in the sick bay. I have a horrendous sore throat and cough. It even hurts to move my jaw Sad.

Luckily I have the vast majority of shopping done, but I still need to clean the house and we are having a party tomorrow! I made the executive decision to take to my sick bed and rest as much as possible in the hope that I will feel much better in the morning.

FlowersFlowers to you

ShadyLady53 · 22/12/2018 13:47

Not got a sickness bug but a really bad chest/throat/sinus virus that’s totally wiped me out. Started on Wednesday and I’ve missed out on all my Christmas celebrations and some gigs I was meant to do. I feel worse today and have been ill most nights since Tuesday. I’m single and don’t have children and I find this time of year hard at best of times but God, I am so lonely and depressed right now. Haven’t been able to leave the house except to go to the pharmacy since Monday. I’m Christian and don’t think I’ll be able to get to church over Christmas or have that sense of community. Feeling very sorry for myself right now.

Jbck · 22/12/2018 13:59

Will join in too but its from the other end ☺️, also heavy cold, headache, stomach cramps nausea no sickness but lots of the other. Started Thursday evening, am lying in bed stressing about everything needing done.

DH says dont stress and piles clean washing on top of the bed I’m in!

He is now out food shopping under duress as he was just going to leave it till Monday .... under strict instructions not to deviate from list.

Four zillion things still to wrap and I just cannot face it.

Hope everyone feels better soon.

abcriskringle · 22/12/2018 14:23

Sorry to hear about everyone else suffering with illness too. Fingers crossed we all feel better soon!

@AnchorDownDeepBreath - so sorry to hear you have pneumonia, how awful. I hope you recover soon.

Dd2 came out in chicken pox yesterday, which means Christmas is officially cancelled (a very elderly aunt and a 5 month old baby mean that we can't go to the family gathering). Also means I have to brave the shops to cobble together a Christmas dinner Xmas Shock

I hope you feel better soon Flowers

Mrsemcgregor · 22/12/2018 15:22

Oh no Jenny! Worst timing ever. I hope your little one doesn’t suffer to badly.

My mother just brought round a bottle of whiskey and insisted I gargle it with lemon and honey. Cheers!
