I overheard a woman on the train yesterday saying she’d been getting up at 4am all week and then spending all day “preparing Christmas things.” I initially thought she must be an event planner or caterer, but no, she was just talking about her family Christmas I can not comprehend what sort of family Christmas involves a week of 12-hour days prepping.

Comtess you are right I think there's something about today being the last window before kids finish and this weekend of visiting and general madness begins, I'd hoped to do more than MN, drink tea and shout at Jeremy Vine (on the radio, he isn't actually here!).

It is morning where I am and I am lying in bed with a coffee because DH has taken DC to school. I really should be up and working, I have set myself 8am as a deadline to gey stuff sorted. We have guests arriving tomorrow so it is the last moment of calm for two weeks.
