I love food, but people who don't know me well sometimes think I am picky because I don't like...
Pasta. Of any kind. No noodles, spaghetti, or anything. It's the texture I'm sensitive to, it just makes me naucious.
Also not nearly as bad but I dislike lettuce. Absolutely love spinach though.

Hot chocolate
Alcohol in desserts
Lemon things - lemon tart, lemon meringue pie. No no no!!

BaconLT · 19/12/2018 07:41

Hangover sponge cake, leaves you feeling sick and your mouth dehydrated - usually accompanied by a proud parent at a birthday party - shaped into a child's toy and covered in roll on icing sugar.

MrsJayy · 19/12/2018 07:42

Cake i am really not fussed , and boiled potatoes I hate boiled potatoes my dh thinks im not right but they are just bleurgh.

JingsMahBucket · 19/12/2018 07:45

@Plaiceholder I’m like that with bananas and have been ever since I was a kid. I hate banana flavoured anything but am fine with actual real bananas. Kind of ehhhh about some cooked bananas like banana pudding. Same way about watermelon flavoured food. Both “artificial” tastes are usually very chemically and weird to me.

rabbitfoodadvocate · 19/12/2018 07:45

@WatchingTheWheels85 Same!! I used to like it but pregnancy has made me go right off it. Worst vegans ever!

yerdadsellsavon · 19/12/2018 07:47

Cheese 🤮

rabbitfoodadvocate · 19/12/2018 07:47

@KingPrawnOkay Those damn shroomdogs. Too peppery for me. Another preggo aversion!

rabbitfoodadvocate · 19/12/2018 07:47

Oh. I don't like chips.

recently · 19/12/2018 07:47

Avocado for me too - tastes like soap
Pringles - any flavour, just disgusting
Risotto, one of the few things my dh likes cooking unfortunately
Pesto - love homemade but can't stand it out of a jar

Shazafied · 19/12/2018 07:49

Agree with the person that hates trifle. Horrible soggy mess, rank!

Also goats cheese .... just , why ?!

I also dislike baklava. Far too sweet and rich. Also ice cream, all ice cream.

Also any hot drink with milk in - tea coffee chocolate. Rank. Drinks should not be opaque !

Sarcelle · 19/12/2018 07:51

Chocolate

I would rather have my teeth pulled out with pilers than eat the stuff.

Largest votes seem to be for

Goats cheese
Bananas
Trifle (or 1 or more of its constituent parts)
Avocado
Variations of chocolate type things (but chocolate is generally ok)

Birdsgottafly · 19/12/2018 08:15

To echo a pp, alcohol in cooking. Which has meant that the only all butter mince pies I can have this year, is M&S mini ones. It also means that fancier restaurants are difficult to eat in.

Boiled rice dishes of any type. I struggle with fried rice, but can eat it.
Vanilla ice cream.
Melon and Mango.
Hash Brown's, waste of a potato.
KFC Beans and Gravy.
Cauliflower.
Mexican chillies, a few other chillies as well.

JockMcGraw · 19/12/2018 08:17

Olives. I think they're the only food I can't eat, even out of politeness.

Other things I wouldn't choose to eat, like banana of coconut, I could eat if someone had made a dish for me using those ingredients. But olives i'd have to say no. I can't even pick them out , the stain the whole dish with their rancid flavour Envy

Nakedavenger74 · 19/12/2018 08:18

Everyone seems to love the desserts that make me heave. Particularly horrible damp milky ones...blech.

Bread and butter pudding. God in heaven that stuff is horrible. Had to choke a large portion down to be polite once

Creme caramel. Wobbly milk. No.

Trifle. Sloppy, horrible, wobbly

Chocolate tart. Dry and claggy. No

Strawberry tarts that look beautiful and promising and include A strawberry and the rest is horrible wobbly custard. Pfffft

Egg custard tarts. Get in the sea

Eggy desserts. Soufflé or something. Absolutely no.

Stupid chocolate pots or somesuch. Dry. Nope

fannyanddick · 19/12/2018 08:25

Cheesecake, lamb and mince pies. Waves to friends!
