Next few weeks are manic.

Tomorrow is DS first nativity.
Sunday is taekwondo grading.

Then off to IL's 22nd (my birthday) til late 23rd.
Half day 24th with food collection from farm shop before 1pm and Christmas play at 2pm on 24th.
Christmas day at home just us 3 and my parents coming here on boxing day..

8 hrs today then the same Mon & Tues. Off until the 2nd Hurrah!

Some decorating to do.
Bit of shopping.
And relax

BlindAssassin1 · 13/12/2018 08:36

I work in retail. So I get Christmas day off. And that's about it all the way through to January. Shift patterns all over the place including finishing gone midnight.

I knew it was coming though so got organised with the gift wrapping and tree decorating etc.

GandolfBold · 13/12/2018 08:42

3 more days and I am off for good.

Given up work to be DD's carer as I cant juggle working with vulnerable people and DS's school refusal and appointments.

GandolfBold · 13/12/2018 08:42

Ds' carer, not DD's

Pyjamaface · 13/12/2018 08:51

3 days left. This weekend and the 22nd, off for Christmas and back on the 28th.

I'm off to Prague next week for a couple of days and I have to get my house ready for all the people staying over.
I am very excited about the fact I have Christmas eve off for the first time in years, so I'm planning to go for a wander around the city in the morning, and some baking in the afternoon

DyingMachine · 13/12/2018 08:54

I finish next Thursday and then I'm off for 11 glorious days. I'm completely burnt out and haven't had any time off (bar the odd day) since May Confused

Youngandfree · 13/12/2018 09:02

I’m a supply teacher so i can’t say but most schools finish here next thurs and then off.
Montessori carol singing tomorrow. Swimming after school and then a meet up with some extended family.
Family days out on Saturday and Sunday
School nativity Sunday evening and Monday evening.
In laws arriving on Thursday also for Christmas and then it’s going to be a bit manic 😂😭

WhenTheDragonsCame · 13/12/2018 09:03

I do bank work so can pretty much choose when I work. I'm working tomorrow then next week I'm doing Monday-Saturday before finishing for Christmas. I think my first day back is possibly around 10th January.

The DC have Christmas parties, discos and mufti days at school but can never remember so keep it all in my diary. Then there is the usual dancing, gymnastics, swimming etc

I have food shopping, booking tickets for our trip to London, wrapping presents, tidying house, clearing out car, finish last bits of present buying 🙈

No Christmas party though, as bank staff I never get invited 😔

StealingYourWiFi · 13/12/2018 09:04

I'm not sure really! I work in private healthcare so will depend what operating lists are going and who's requested to work what. I'm up on my hours compared to most of my colleagues so I know my last working day will be the 22nd (Saturday, which I requested to work as it's my usual operating list) but I may not be back until the 2nd/3rd BUT might have to go in on the 27th/28th (both or just one). I will find out tomorrow.

lylamorris · 13/12/2018 09:06

I decide to stay at home and relax. I'm going to enjoy with my kids and we have lots of time to spend with each other so it is going to be fun.

SconNotScone · 13/12/2018 09:17

I’m off already 😱 I work in a private school. I feel a bit guilty telling people that I am already finished, but in a “sorry, not sorry” kind of way!

cjt110 · 13/12/2018 09:18

@SconNotScone Xmas Envy Xmas Grin

Last day of work is next Friday although hoping for an early finish. Then I’m not back in until New Year’s Eve but it’s just me in the office as everyone else has booked it off but as DH is already off I don’t want to waste a day of leave as need it to cover school hols/inset days/kids illness etc. The off New Year’s Day and then back in on the 2nd

Mumtoboy123 · 13/12/2018 09:27

On maternity leave 😃 first xmas off since i started working and DH is off from 21st - 2nd. Although with DS being 10weeks old, everyone is putting huge demands on our time. Worst part of xmas is all the bloody running around.
21st DH xmas do
22nd friendmass (only optionsl thing we've planned and im excites for it)
23rd FIL
24th my sister and her boyfriend are coming
25th my mums (wanted to do it at home ourselves but DM got offended.. of course)
26th MIL and SIL
27th DH extended family
28th SIL birthday
Roll on the 29th! (Although DM will probably have decided she hasnt seen her 'perfect little boy' in too long and turn up on the doorstep.
Gin anyone?!

Megan2018 · 13/12/2018 09:27

Last day at work is Fri 21st, back 2nd Jan (we are closed so no annual leave required).

No plans really apart from Christmas Day/Boxing Day as we are hosting.

I will be mostly present wrapping, waiting for Ocado, drinking excessively and watching Christmas films. Or riding the horse and leaving DH to it

It is completely non stressful for us as no DC in the family at all - just nice civilised adult time.

confusedandemployed · 13/12/2018 09:31

Working up to and including 21st. Then working 28th and 31st but it'll be absolutely dead and I WFH so it's not exactly a hardship.

Turquoisetamborine · 13/12/2018 09:33

I finish on Wednesday until 7th January. Knew there was a reason why I’m a civil servant. Has to be some perks!

BarbedBloom · 13/12/2018 09:37

I finish on 21st and then I go back to work on 7th January. Can’t wait!

Mildmanneredmum · 13/12/2018 09:38

I work in an office, so get Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day off. I'm taking Christmas Eve as leave because I and my grown up son and daughter are going to the Royal Albert Hall for Carols by Candlelight (and a few drinks) on Christmas Eve, Christmas lunch with them in a walking-distance gastropub, then the London Palladium pantomime on the following Saturday and Christmas at Kew on the Sunday, both with them. All saved for, booked and paid for well in advance, so no big bills to come. Then bed on NYE and watch the bongs! If you can watch bongs.

BitchQueen90 · 13/12/2018 09:39

Finishing on the 21st, back on the 2nd Jan.

I have absolutely no plans apart from going to my DM for Christmas. I'm looking forward to just relaxing, eating and drinking!

Johnnycomelately1 · 13/12/2018 09:42

Finish 19th which is DC's last day of school. DM coming to stay for a week over Christmas, then we're going skiing once she goes back home. My first Christmas in my house for 5 years so looking forward. Got stuff on between now and Christmas but all fun stuff and pretty casual so I don't mind. Back to work on 7th (Actually the 4th but I told everyone the 7th as I want a day of peace and quiet to get shit done before it all starts up again). I really need this 2 week break as this year has been totally insane

Ifangyow · 13/12/2018 09:43

Five shifts to work, finish work on the 22nd, drive to ferry port on 23rd for overnight ferry home and arrive home at around lunchtime on xmas eve. Back at work on 3rd Jan.
