Royal babies. Do you think William and Catherine will have a 4th?

Yes I know we don't have a crystal ball, but the Queen had 4, incl Edward when she was 40. IME families often repeat the number of children-all my friends who have 3 DCs are one of 3 themselves. So Catherine may be happy with 3, but she does seem quite a broody type so I wonder if there may be one more? Obviously money is not an issue and she appears to spring back into shape, other than having horrible morning sickness.

Kate's one of three and William one of two, though, so even on the basis of your theory, it's likely they'd stick at three.

retainertrainer · 11/12/2018 16:57

Yes I think they’ll have one more. Got to secure that line to the throne!

KismetHardie · 11/12/2018 16:59

Yes. They obviously love it and loads of kids and presumably aren't under any housing, financial or career pressure! Plus loads of kids is the current way to show your social status.

well my theory is just that- a theory!

Gynaes say a woman's body can withstand 3 pregnancies before it falls apart ( I'm talking pelvic floors) so I wonder if they have been advised accordingly?

Im amazed they have three as she seems to suffer so much in pregnancy

JinglingHellsbells · 11/12/2018 17:02

Plus loads of kids is the current way to show your social status.

You mean like the families in the Daily Fail who are on benefits and have 20 kids :)

She's been looking so happy and relaxed recently I think he's had the snip Grin

adoggymum · 11/12/2018 17:09

I would say probably not as she's had such a tough time with sickness in all of them? Although it's hardly hard work for them as they have so much help! Surprised most royals don't have 10!😂

KismetHardie · 11/12/2018 17:11

Grin yep

Of course there are the more kids than they can afford families, but I feel like more than two kids is increasingly a big marker of wealth and status-or happiness and having-it-all-together.

KismetHardie · 11/12/2018 17:12

(I would have babies forever if we could afford it so maybe I'm jealous...my body and bank balance agree with each other though)

Crimbobimbo · 11/12/2018 17:19

I was wondering this. I was surprised by number three given her sickness, but if you have people to help you with everything perhaps it's slightly more bearable...? If you don't have to get your other children up/do the school run/wipe bum holes. I'm going to say no, but wouldn't be that surprised if she had another now, given the third.

GlassHeart1 · 11/12/2018 17:22

I'd say yes!

SemperIdem · 11/12/2018 17:25

I think they’ll stick to 3.

megletthesecond · 11/12/2018 17:27

santy I've over pondered the same thing Grin. I think they've put the baby stage behind them.

JinglingHellsbells · 11/12/2018 17:31

Surely an heir to the throne would never have the snip?

If tragedy occurred, and C plus kids died, he'd want his sperm intact to father another heir, or we'd end up with Harry.

I wouldn't be surprised if they had one more.

MrsCar · 11/12/2018 17:34

I don't think they will. Nobody could take them seriously when they speak about being concerned about the environment, if they had 4 children.

VeggyGravy · 11/12/2018 17:35

No, three is plenty if you're busy and suffer from terrible morning sickness!

bertielab · 11/12/2018 17:36

Absolutely no idea.

There were rumours he wanted two and she pushed for more. I think the reasoning at the time -was a slimmed down monarchy - don't forget the Charles is in the position his brothers x2 and sister x1 all want roles / housing etc.

It was supposed to be Charles, William & Harry the new 'monarchy' -but if they have 4 and M&H have 3/4 -suddenly there are 8 to add to the mix.

I don't know - I feel for her though as her pregnancies are so, so rough.

VeggyGravy · 11/12/2018 17:37

If tragedy occurred, and C plus kids died, he'd want his sperm intact to father another heir, or we'd end up with Harry.

I seriously doubt if all of his kids and wife died he'd be out looking for a mother for new heirs. He's already getting on a bit and he's got no reason to begrudge Harry's kids the throne.

VeggyGravy · 11/12/2018 17:38

bertielab Harry's kids aren't part of the slimmed down monarchy though, they won't have titles or jobs. (unless everyone dies!)

DeadZed · 11/12/2018 17:38

Honestly, I was so surprised when they had no 3, I definitely think they are done. Although, round here, four children seems to be a middle class marker...

MadameMacron · 11/12/2018 17:41

I think they will have a fourth, yes.

iVampire · 11/12/2018 17:42

Presumably being Royal doesn’t make you immune to ‘oops’ moments?

BertramKibbler · 11/12/2018 17:51

Harry’s children will be entitled to titles after the Queen does as Grandchildren to the Monarch.

W&C seem to do a lot of speaking out re the environment. Given the issues that overpopulation are causing I was surprised that they had 3. It would be pretty hypocritical to have 4.

Also, they’ve clearly run out of names Wink
