Just that really! Opinions divided here

It depends on the casing. If it's a natural casing then no, but if it isn't then yes. It usually tells you on the side of the pack.

CrazyOldBagLady · 09/12/2018 23:49

Yes I peel it. It usually says to on the instructions!

IamPickleRick · 09/12/2018 23:50

Yes because whenever I haven’t, it has been a bit shrunken and odd.

Ihaventgottimeforthis · 10/12/2018 00:01

I usually don't but then after I've eaten it I wish I had taken the time to do it, when the casing is a pain and gets stuck in teeth.

But usually I'm just scarfing it down too quickly to bother.

Sparrowlegs248 · 10/12/2018 09:22

I always do but have never seen instructions saying to, so wondered if it was necessary. Mother says not.

Gordon Ramsey says yes, at least in the recipe book I have. So I'm sticking with that for now (or at least until Heston comes out on team Remain Smile)

CookieSwirlC · 10/12/2018 09:26

I do, the ones I get from Aldi and Tesco say on the pack too I think as well. I don’t worry if I don’t get it all off as sometimes it doesn’t come off easily but I get the majority off.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 10/12/2018 09:28

Yes, always.

ExplodedPeach · 10/12/2018 09:51

What?! I've never peeled chorizo. It's never occurred to me to. It's a sausage!

MulticolourMophead · 10/12/2018 10:28

I don't like the texture of the skin, do always remove, including the natural casings.

TheQueef · 10/12/2018 10:30

The asda one I buy seems to have a paper casing. So I eat it.

DianaPrincessOfThemyscira · 10/12/2018 10:31

I do if it tells me to. Otherwise not.

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 10/12/2018 10:33

I always feel oddly guilty as the pack says to peel, but it’s such a faff I never bother!

MawkishTwaddle · 10/12/2018 10:34

I've started to, because I was finding it sticking in my teeth and being impossible to swallow.

But it's a total ballache to peel.

So really, it's suffer before cooking or suffer afterwards. Choose your hard.

(And all that's after trying to pronounce it without sounding like a twat.)

SalmonLeBon · 10/12/2018 10:35

This has to be the most middle class thread ever, debating chorizo skin! Grin

Usually I do, as it then releases the oils so much better for flavouring.

donkey86 · 10/12/2018 10:35

I do. I quite enjoy it - it’s like peeling dried on PVA off your fingers.

BusterTheBulldog · 10/12/2018 10:36

Hmm I never have. I have got it stuck in teeth before though! Maybe I will start 😬

TheQueef · 10/12/2018 11:26

Asparagus is another.
Faff peeling it so I just scoff the lot.

Stuckforthefourthtime · 10/12/2018 11:49

Peeling asparagus???!?! Hmm

ApolloandDaphne · 10/12/2018 13:36

If you mean do i take the papery stuff off it then yes i do.

icebearforpresident · 10/12/2018 13:44

Never ever ever. But this thread has me wondering if I should.

Peachydream · 10/12/2018 13:47

Yep- Always peel, scoring with a sharp knife makes it easier.

Dobbyhasnomaster · 10/12/2018 13:48

I eat so much chorizo and have never heard of this / bothered to read the instructions 🤦‍♀️ I will try it next time!!!

trixymalixy · 10/12/2018 13:49

I didn't used to until i served some to friends and everyone was picking the papery covering out of their teeth. very embarrassing.

gaggiagirl · 10/12/2018 13:52

Yes. The stuff I get has a papery casing... I'm not eating that!
