I was really excited to give my son his x box one. That was until we just went to see father Christmas and he announced he wants a Nintendo switch Confused

Atetoomanymincepies · 09/12/2018 16:35

I got my parents VIP tickets to see The Hairy Bikers who they love on the TV. They are going to meet then before the show and I am so excited to see them open it!

My almost 3 year old is train mad and we've got him a train table... can't wait to see his little face!

I'm creating Newts case of fantastic beasts for dd1. I'm ridiculously excited to give it to Her!! Tonight I'm making a personalised newspaper clipping to put on the inside and then getting some photos and drawings together to pin in too.

I've got dd2 a whole load of LOL dolls which I'm sure she will be really excited about as she hasn't stopped going on about them since September and she treasures her magazine and one little sister doll!

I’ve made my mum a patchwork quilt, I think she will be thrilled.

Chinks123 · 09/12/2018 17:25

I’ll be announcing I’m pregnant! I don’t think my DM will be pleased with that present though..
also booked dp a surprise holiday.

Dockray · 09/12/2018 17:28

Cormoran that is lovely.

I cant wait to see dd's face when she gets a phone- she doesn't think she'll be allowed one til next year. It's only my old one but she's going to be thrilled.

I am also so excited to give DH his present as he is always such a good present giver and I am not. However this year I have managed to buy something I know he will love as he has always commented on a particular painting my parents have and I've managed to get a very similar one by the same artist.

Rarfy · 09/12/2018 17:32

I've got my parents a teasmade. I can't wait to give them it.

Also got dniece and dnephew smiggle pop out pencil cases which i think they will love

ProfessionallyUnoffended · 09/12/2018 17:44

Oh Cish! Presuming he is youngish, I would subtly mention a few negative things about the Nintendo Switch here and there and mention how a friend's older boys LOVE their xbox!
Atetoomany - How lovely, they will be so pleased.

Well, this is very feeble compared to PPs, but DH is getting, among other things, a special attachment to put on his drill to clean paintbrushes. It wouldn't thrill me either, but he used to have one, but uselessDSD lost it when she borrowed it Hmm and whilst he regularly mourns its passing, hasnt actually pressed the magic button on Amazon to replace it!

ShadowWeaver · 09/12/2018 17:49

A phone case with DD1's(14) favourite (obscure) band on.
A phone for Dd2(10)
Poor dd3 hasn't got a "wow" present yet, no idea what to get her [santa]

Dontbestupidagain · 09/12/2018 17:50

I have bought my dd a bottle of butter beer for dd's stocking. She obviously has proper presents but out of everything I think she will love this.

yawning801 · 09/12/2018 17:52

I am a rubbish present giver so I'm not sure Grin

My aunt lost her husband earlier this year. I ordered a l'occitane advent calendar to be delivered to her home with a note to say that I knew December would be a lonely month for her but I just wanted her to have something small to look forward to each morning. I don't see her often and wouldn't normally buy for her but am glad that I did.

poppy196 · 09/12/2018 17:57

Beautiful patchwork, well done you bet it took ages but worth it .@CormoranStrike
I got my dd a Fitbit in Black Friday sale , delivery 1 to 2 weeks , just rang them and they said delivery after Christmas . Fuck fuck , just cancelled order and got one from Very but need to be signed for so now need to chat to neighbours to ask for them to sign for it on Tuesday 🙄fed up as thought it was sorted .
Daughter will be delighted though 😁

Omzlas · 09/12/2018 18:02

A coffee machine for DH, he's drooled over a friend's for ages but never bought himself one
Plus, he always out-gifts me. Not this year pal, not this year

I'm picking up a tractor for DS this week, that boy is tractor crazy so that's exciting too

bakebakebake · 09/12/2018 18:03

Police station Playmobil for DS. He's obsessed with his fire station. My family are buying bits to go with it so it'll be really exciting for him!

DD is also getting some playmobil, shes getting a country stable for all the ponies and unicorns. I hope she'll be happy with it.

GrowThroughWhatYouGoThrough · 09/12/2018 18:15

I got my mum a Vivienne Westwood handbag she really wants one and could buy herself one but won't she will be soo surprised and happy 😃

lostlalaloopsy · 09/12/2018 18:24

We got ds 6 a metal detector, just a kids one not too expensive but he will love it. He's also getting lots of spy/detective things - binoculars, invisible ink pen and pad, can't wait to see his face. Dd 10 is getting an Amazon dot, she is not expecting it so will be so surprised!
