I got my OH a DNA test as he swears that he is nothing but English. He is an avid rugby player/follower so hoping for a few Celtic lines before the six nations starting.

We have bought our two Kylie tickets - DH and I go to see her every time she tours and the last couple of times the kids have gotten upset and want to come with us. They have no idea at all and I know they are going to be so exited!

I’m making my mum a jar with 12 cards in, each card will be something to do together through the year such as afternoon tea, a cinema trip and a weekend in Rome in May. She’s always wanted to go and I can’t wait to see her face. She deserves the world.

Terrys Chocolate Orange. DS is only 18 months the but he loves them, so I've got him one for his stocking. His face lights up when he sees the orange wrapper so I'm looking forward to seeing his reaction Grin

I have bought ex display laptops for my two eldest girls, they think they are just getting money off everybody in the family to buy a laptop in the sales - they will have them Christmas morning and then can use the money off everybody else to go on a shopping spree to buy whatever else they want. They’ve no idea we have bought them, I can’t wait to see their faces!

Bought my brother the rebooted 90s sega mega drive complete with 85 pre loaded games!

I've got DD tickets for Little Mix, she has no idea so can't wait to see her face!

Sounds like there will be a lot of happy MNers family members this year! Some great ideas here and lovely surprises for both adults and children.

The 8 smiggle squishies I won. The dds are having them. £72 worth of pointless tat I wouldn't have point them they will be so excited Grin

DD (7) said she’d written her Christmas list at school and it is: a model of a fairy, a jewellery set, and a squishie. I dutifully sourced all these things (with some subtle probing about what exactly a model of a fairy is like).

Then this evening she decided to sit down and draw specifically what these three things will look like, which Father Christmas will know when she puts the drawing in the fire and the piece of paper goes up the chimney. Needless to say, her drawings don’t resemble what I’ve actually bought - argh! Hopefully she will still be happy and quite excited that I’ve actually got everything off her —slightly mad— list.

Eldest is getting the "big one" this year, Barbie's Dream House.

Also looking forward to giving my husband a book about 365 days of drawing. He's always so happy when he's sketching away.

Wigeon · 09/12/2018 23:13

*I’M quite excited that I’ve actually got everything FOR her...

HippoLatte · 10/12/2018 00:43

LOL house for DD(4) it's not the actual LOL house but a big dolls house with better reviews which she saw in the toy shop and loved. She calls it the LOL house though.

LilMadAgain · 10/12/2018 00:58

A giant metal Jaffa Cake tin filled with... Jaffa Cakes 😕 for the husband. Also a Jaffa Cake keyring. He really really likes Jaffa Cakes. Im making an Angry Birds plush for my son (5) who will love it. This is a great thread!

NoCanoe · 10/12/2018 01:38

I've bought my brother a microflight experience.

We've only just recently got back in contact after decades.
Think it will surprise and delight him. Xmas Smile

MaitlandGirl · 10/12/2018 02:53

We’ve bought my FIL a really nice shaving brush set - his old brush is falling apart but he doesn’t have the money to replace it as MIL spends all their money (which is a whole other story). He never buys anything for himself so we’re really excited to give it to him.

HappyStripper · 10/12/2018 03:59

Those heritage dna tests for both me and my husband. We’re a bit of a funny mix so we thought it would be neat to see if there are any surprising similarities in heritage etc. We’ve been talking about them for ages but hadn’t gotten round to doing it so it’ll be a neat surprise for him on Christmas and something fun to do on the day.

VeniVidiViciTwice · 10/12/2018 04:18

Both Baby wow walking Megan and swim to me puppy for dd2 (3), she hasn't shut up about them for months! Although she had decided she would like father Christmas to bring her a green fork!! 😂

Pinkprincess1978 · 13/12/2018 06:54

My dd has given us a list which we have bought things off (not everything as there are things I know she needs/would get more use out of that she won't think of). The other day we went to see Santa and out of nowhere she says she wants a scooter! Bit late two weeks before Christmas love 😂
