If so how much? I pay my cleaner £25 a week. At Xmas I give her an extra £25. Not sure if this is stingy..?

if it's stingy, please can I join your club?
I'm planning to do the same]smile]

Karwomannghia · 08/12/2018 16:23

I was thinking double. Hope it’s not stingy!

Chewbecca · 08/12/2018 16:23

Yes, same as you, poss plus a bottle of fizz.

knittedjest · 08/12/2018 16:24

Yes. We give everybody who regularly works in our house a 30% tip and a Christmas hamper.

christmas2018 · 08/12/2018 16:24

I usually get a gift and give a weeks money
This year I’m not bothering as she’s just told me she’s away for 4 weeks with about 2 days notice so I’m not giving anything as I’m pissed off!!

christmaschristmaschristmas · 08/12/2018 16:24

We give an extra weeks pay.

Djchickpea · 08/12/2018 16:26

Ok cool seems like that's a pretty usual approach 😊

I can see why you do this if you have one regular cleaner. We have a cleaning service which is usually 2 sometimes 3 people but often a different mix of people e.g. this week I had 2 cleaners, 1 I've met quite a few times, the other I have never seen before.

Unsure how to manage Xmas bonus in this situation?

Florabella · 08/12/2018 16:28

I am obviously really tight - I give £20. To be honest my budget is £25 each for my nieces and nephews and I'm not about to spend more on my cleaner than my family.

scaryteacher · 08/12/2018 16:30

I give my cleaner €100 bonus. I have done since 2006. I've nor altered it over the years as I am flexible when she needs it, and I pay her over and above the price of the service cheques anyway. She also does well on clothes my ds has outgrown, has had computers and bikes from us over the years as well.

SauvignonBlanche · 08/12/2018 16:31

I give an extra weeks money and a present but we go back a long way.

Sallygoroundthemoon · 08/12/2018 16:33

Er no. I don't give her anything. Should I?

slithytove · 08/12/2018 16:37

I give a present

Minniemountain · 08/12/2018 16:41

We give an extra week's money. That is actually the same as we spend on DNs but she's a good cleaner, so it's worth the bribe.

bananamonkey · 08/12/2018 16:41

An extra week’s money (£20), and some chocolates

Mrscog · 08/12/2018 16:59

I was thinking of telling her not to come between Christmas and new year, but paying anyway and a bottle of wine? But it’s a small business rather than a sole trader so I feel less generous!

gamerchick · 08/12/2018 17:01

Er no. I don't give her anything. Should I?

Well it's a nice surprise for someone who scrubs skiddies from your bogs like. You don't have to but it's a nice gesture of appreciation isn't it?

No, as she has a contract which includes a bonus already.

MarshaBradyo · 08/12/2018 17:30

£50 which is one week’s pay

slithytove · 08/12/2018 17:52

I hope no cleaners have to scrub skid marks!

Ivegotthree · 08/12/2018 17:56

Extra week's money

Justnapping · 08/12/2018 18:07
