Show me the bright lights!!!

Having being made aware (via social media) that tinsel and coloured lights are twee, naff and dates- an opportunity for all things bright! Soft white lights welcome, because this is an all encompassing post. Show me the tres!!! Mine is included.

I bloody love a Christmas tree thread! We haven't got ours yet but I'm onboard to see other people's beauties.

I like all lights and decorations whatever people choose, although not too keen on blue lights.

There was someone over in Christmas who was doing a retro 80's style tree. Hope they see this.

I accidentally ended up sounding sneery of the more fashionable trees. Wasn't intended. They are all welcome! 😁 I look forward to seeing yours @EnidButton!

Here is mine. We had a big tree but it overwhelmed my.little.livibg room so we have gone back to the little one dh and I started with in 2001. Lights are new this year though.

Here's mine, every thing on this tree including the lights have all been passed down from my DM, some of the decorations are from when I was little ❣️

I've realised we only have baubles. No decorations. Hoping to nab some from my mum when we got back home next for the whole tradition thing. And start to buy one or two a year to add to the tree as well as the lights and baubles. Trees all looking great!

Here's mine, I let the dc decorate it this year and I think they've done a good job. The oldest decoration on the tree is a 42 year old golden Santa

@holyshitdude- I do like the idea of family decorations. I'm definitely going to have to ask my mum for some!

Here's mine. Tree and lights are new this year new but decorations are 19yrs old!

@SD1978 Start collecting a few bits now and each year. I had nothing handed down to me,my mum went through a minimal phase in the 90's and binned the lot. I personally do love a bit of tinsel and coloured lights.🎄

I'm so glad to see tinsel is still alive and well for so many. I was beginning to think we were the only ones left that still chucked the stuff on with gay abandon!

@Oblomov18- me too!! Seen so many pale rooms with minimalist trees. This is a breath of tacky air 😂😂

We have just put ours up, with coloured lights and coloured lights on the house too after years of white and silver. I'm loving it! Plus our house looks different to all the rest in the street.

Here's ours. Covered in lots of colourful tinsel And lights, Disney decorations, and different coloured baubles. I bought some gorgeous multicoloured jewel tone tinsel this year, not enough to cover the whole tree so mixed other colours in with it. Think I'm going to go buy some more for next year.

Some lovely trees! After years of subtle soft white lights & tasteful decorations I’m having a major urge for colour & tack (not saying any of the above are). It just makes me feel
so nostalgic to see the coloured lights & tinsel. In fact i bought a 1950s tinsel tree, some woolworths glass baubles & honeycomb decorations today on ebay.

Here is mine. It's a Balsam Hill twig tree and I love it. My flat is quite small so this is very pretty but doesn't take up all the room.

Loving all the trees - bring on the tinsel and the coloured lights I say. More is more as far as Christmas decorations go.
