What Christmas song do you really dislike?

Now the Xmas songs are out in full force, I’m reminded of the ones I totally hate.

Destiny’s Child “Doesn’t It Feel Like Christmas”; so smug and grabby. Shame they need thousands of $ spending on them to enjoy the festive period

Also, that pervy Love Actually version of Love is All Around, with Bill somebody or other sliming all over the Santa-esque ladies.

Add me to the list of ‘Fairytale of New York’ haters. It’s always the one people name as their favourite to seem cool too. Yawn. Christmas songs aren’t supposed to be cool. They are meant to be cheesy, jangly and a bit tacky.

I was pleased when the Phil Spector Christmas songs fell out of favour a few years back.

I have fond memories of Mistletoe and Wine. Not for its musical qualities but because the year it came out, my beloved y3 teacher played it repeatedly while we did Christmas crafts.

Fairytale of New York - AKA the emperors new clothes of Xmas tunes.

Elton John - Step into Christmas. The most repetitive, annoying Christmas song ever.

The Band Aid song is also beyond patronising, I hate it.

My favourite is Wham! - Last Christmas.

I actually don't mind the song as an artistic expression of how shit it is to have alcoholic family at Christmas... But its not uplifting or funny which lots of people weirdly seem to think it is.

I definitely don't want to be forced to listen to it endlessly.

Another vote here for Mariah fucking Carey and "All I want for Christmas is yoooooouuuuuuu..." I have to turn the radio off if it comes on, and have been known to walk out of shops if it starts to play. For Chrissake stop warbling, stop cramming unnecessary fucking notes into every fucking word and just SING the bloody thing!

Stop the cavalry, it has absolutely nothing to do with xmas. Even the lyrics make it clear it is not xmas in the song!
