... and so I'm bringing you an "Advent calendar" with a scene or two each day of what the Playmoland people are getting up to in the run up to Christmas.

Today in Lowbeach-on-Sea, Marta and her son Franz are putting up their Christmas decorations.

Thank you all! Ds and I have been to the local Turkish restaurant this evening and reminisced about his childhood. All good, including good old Norm!

Also, I have it on good authority that Ulrike has only sustained a soft tissue injury, and is likely to be back on her feet before long! Smile

And thank you petal for everything, much appreciated! Will be in touch!

That is good news about Ulrike. Don't tell the folks on Mumsnet though that the air ambulance was called for a soft tissue injury. When even to call an ambulance you need at least one limb dangling off, I dread to think what the threshold would be for helicopter evacuation from Beany Hill.

Well, at the time, she couldn't stand up, so best to be on the safe side eh? Wink

Btw, Norm is now enjoying his birthday celebrations with another cuppa, and maybe a glass of blue wine.

Happy Birthday BitsDS and Norm Sorry I can only toast inWine.. (not having any but Playmo blue wine to hand , which is of course much more exclusive) .

Loving the Playmo Advent, Thanks GinFlowersWine

Loving this thread (as did I with the royal wedding) only wish I was so inventive with buddy the elf!

BerylStreep · 05/12/2018 22:36

Wonderful!

I'm so glad to see that the playmobil folk were standing down slope from the helicopter. That would have been an entirely different scene otherwise.

Happy birthday to your DS 🎂

Thank you all! More photos tomorrow...

Natalie has slipped over in the icy conditions and has fractured her tibia and fibula. She is in Greenchester General Hospital, in the operating theatre undergoing an open reduction and internal fixation.

Before anyone comments, yes, I do know there should be more than just an anaesthetist and a surgeon in the operating theatre. The set only came with two people in scrubs scrub nurse is just finishing scrubbing up, the circulating nurse has gone off for another dressing pack, and the operating department practioner has just popped into the anaesthetic room for another bag of IV fluid.

Back on the ward after the operation, Neil the doctor comes to see Natalie. "The operation went well" he says. "Now you must keep your leg elevated and be non weight bearing for 6 weeks."

Poor Natalie! Lowbeach-on-Sea is clearly a dangerous place to be in Winter. Have the council budget cuts curtailed their gritting efforts?

SoMuchToBits · 06/12/2018 13:22

Natalie was in Greenchester rather than Lowbeach, and the roads were gritted, but she slipped on the icy pavement, after getting a bit distracted with window shopping!

Are you an Arthur Ransome fan by any chance squashyhat?

Wow. That looks like a massive saw for an ORIF. And is the surgeon listening to the bed with that stethoscope??

KnittingSister · 06/12/2018 13:28

And is that a light saber in his other hand??

SoMuchToBits · 06/12/2018 13:31

Haha, it was the only saw I had. GrinThe thing in his other hand is a screwdriver (orthopaedics is basically carpentry, isn't it?).

I don't think Neil is deliberately listening to the bed, his stethoscope slipped! Grin

KnittingSister · 06/12/2018 13:57

Ah. A screwdriver. Yes, that makes more sense than a light saber! Neil has obviously worked very hard on that operation so he was probably tired Smile

brizzledrizzle · 06/12/2018 14:21

Excellent again, you have no idea how much I'm Loving these.

Eatmycheese · 06/12/2018 14:37

Just fantastic.

SoMuchToBits · 06/12/2018 17:20

Thank you for your kind comments!

The good news is that my spare parts arrived this morning, so I now have everything I need to complete my scenes. Smile

Yay!

Bloodybridget · 06/12/2018 17:34

You've got it all planned to the 24th then SoMuch? Or maybe we're even going to get a Christmas Day scene (if it carries on like this, the tree will go up in flames or someone will electrocute herself with the fairy lights).

SoMuchToBits · 06/12/2018 17:40

Yes, I've got it all planned!

Hadn't thought of the lights setting everything on fire, although we do have plenty of fire service personnel and vehicles to tackle any such blazes... Fire rescue was the first theme that ds had, when he was 5!

Oh dear, I hope that she has finished her Christmas shopping. Being laid up for 6 weeks at this time of year is my worst nightmare! Hope there is Wi-Fi in Greenchester General Hospital so she can amend her online orders so she isn't stuck with just 6 bottles of champagne.
