... and so I'm bringing you an "Advent calendar" with a scene or two each day of what the Playmoland people are getting up to in the run up to Christmas.

Today in Lowbeach-on-Sea, Marta and her son Franz are putting up their Christmas decorations.

Im a bit worried that Marta may be cold? Is she the sort of v stylish girl who wouldn't be seen dead in a coat?! (one of those who go out n short sleeves and miniskirts even on the coldest city Friday nights ?!! ) Grin

Its just that I noticed she wasn't wearing a coat or hat at the Christmas market either )

brizzledrizzle · 13/12/2018 09:28

I wish our post office was like that, I'd ski there Grin

SoMuchToBits · 13/12/2018 11:43

I think Marta just doesn't feel the cold too much! She came in the Christmas room set which was an indoor scene

Today it's the Eastgate Primary School Christmas concert. Miss Jennings is conducting the school choir, while Mr Wilson is accompanying on the piano.

Mr Wilson's beard game is strong.

SoMuchToBits · 13/12/2018 11:49

Next it's the recorder group...

There is also a small jazz group. Mr Wilson is helping out on saxophone.

really makes my smile everyday Grin

thanks bits

TheMadGardener · 13/12/2018 12:12

The school concert is AMAZING!!!

hypnotizzz · 13/12/2018 12:28

Ahh, I miss (sort of) school concerts now my children are at secondary school. Playmobil recorders must be really high and screechy.

As you've shown the sheet music, will have a go playing that tune on the piano later.

polarisation · 13/12/2018 13:50

The tune on the sheet music is part of O Filii et Filiae which is a hymn for Easter

That was a stressful 10 mins where I couldn't remember the name of it or enough words to Google it either!

As a former music teacher I can only dream of having a Playmobil school concert... It looks fantastic and a lot less logistically challenging than a real one!

StormTreader · 13/12/2018 14:16

I've just found this thread, loving it! Santa showing the elf his list was just perfect :) Placemarking so I get the rest!

GlowWine · 13/12/2018 15:26

Thanks so much for this! My kids are finally too old for their Playmobil Advent calendars which came out every year, so it's nice to see Santa's Postoffice feature in your scenes. And your Germanic names give me Heimweh 😊, but in a good way.

AviatorShades · 13/12/2018 15:47

I'd imagine Marta doesn't feel the cold cos she lived her very early childhood years with her grandparents and mum in Newcastle(where everyone is impervious to the cold, apparently judging by what I saw on Saturday nights there), while her dad was working on the rigs in the North Sea. Then, her mum and dad were able to buy their forever home in Lowbeach. The grandparents visit every summer but will be making a special visit to Lowbeach for Marta's carol serviceSmile

Loving the rehearsals, loving the musicGrin

💐

brizzledrizzle · 13/12/2018 15:56

I love the music group ones. My, Mr WIlson certainly has a large recorder doesn't he? Wink

Thank goodness he doesn't play the organ.

Eatmycheese · 13/12/2018 16:26

Mr Wilson's beard...... retro delight Grin

SoMuchToBits · 13/12/2018 16:48

Sadly, this will be the last year I'll be attending any school concerts, as ds is now in year 13. I have already been to his school Christmas concert, and will be going to hear him play in the orchestra for The Messiah tomorrow night, which his school choral society are doing.

I'll really miss all that stuff! But will have to make do with the Playmobil version this time next year.

I love the school concert too...will there be a Nativity Play to follow?

SoMuchToBits · 13/12/2018 19:12

I'm not giving anything away about what scenes will follow, Fuzzy - you'll have to wait and see! Grin

@SoMuchToBits - thank you for all the time and effort you put in to this glorious thread, which puts a smile on my face every time I click on it!

sharke · 13/12/2018 19:24

Oh god I'm excited for tomorrow already

fourbaubles · 13/12/2018 19:28

I think I recognise Mr Wilson from my local town Jazz Club. They have a monthly meet up and drink a considerable amount of beer.

AviatorShades · 13/12/2018 19:33

burblish, I'm echoing what you've writtenSmile. I've had quite a stressful day so it was a delight to get home and click on this link and know I was going to smile...oh, and I listened to the music too.Glorious!
