What films does your 2 year old enjoy

With the winter upon us I'm wondering whether we might be able to watch a film as a family this year. Youngest DC is 2. So I'm looking for recommendations.

What films do your 2 year olds enjoy?

Too young to concentrate or follow story lines, choose something you or older DC will enjoy.

Snowwontbelong · 30/11/2018 15:34

We took ds to see the film version of Beauty the Beast for his second birthday! Concentrated so hard he wouldn't even eat his popcorn!!
Loves the cinema at 4 now!!

Most 2 year olds will love a cinema experience. But at that age DC2 will not be able to fully appreciate, understand and recount story to show comprehension so go with what you like.

BillyAndTheSillies · 30/11/2018 15:40

DS loves Cars, The Little Mermaid and strangely Charlie & The Chocolate Factory.
He's only recently been able to sit through a film so I tend to make a suggestion and see if he sits through the opening credits.

Stroller15 · 30/11/2018 15:40

My 2yr old son loves Cars.

dontpointatme · 30/11/2018 15:46

My 2yo DD would happily watch Frozen/Jungle Book/The Good Dinosaur all day long.

dontpointatme · 30/11/2018 15:46

Oh and any of the Toy Story films too!

fizzytonicplease · 30/11/2018 15:49

Moana was the only film my DS would sit and watch all the way through when he was 2.

Vanillaradio · 30/11/2018 15:54

At 2 the only films ds would watch all the way through were Frozen and The Jungle Book and Jungle Book 2 (which is pretty dreadful!)

Witchend · 30/11/2018 17:09

At that age dd1 loved the original Famous Five (70s version)
Dd2 loved any Disney Princess
Ds would choose "The Red Arrows Story". or anything to do with Spitfires.

MoaningSickness · 30/11/2018 17:15

My child at that age loved things with catchy songs. Downside that we had to endure a car journey of 'lekk it goooo! lekk it goooo!' over and over 500 times (and only those three words) after seeing Frozen.

HappyPunky · 30/11/2018 17:18

Trolls. It's not bad for adults either the first time. Not so much the 732nd time.

I really enjoyed Coco and Zootopia

Pinotforever · 30/11/2018 17:23

Trolls, Frozen, The Peanuts Movie are favourites with my DD Smile

Scoleah · 30/11/2018 17:29

Not a Full length film, but short films my 2 year old likes are
Gruffalo, Stickman, room on the Broom & we're going on a Bearhunt.

Marmite27 · 30/11/2018 18:05

DC1 has always had good concentration and has been going to the theatre since she was 18 months old. She also loves films and was well able to concentrate and watch one all the way through at 2.

She’s pretty much a Disney girl, so Frozen, Moana, Finding Nemo, Toystory etc, but also LOVES the Despicable Me/Minions, Shrek and Ice Age films.

Weepingwillows12 · 30/11/2018 18:10

Mine both loved the snowman and gruffalo. He pays attention to most kids films for a short time, particularly those with songs, and is happy to play quietly nearby when his older brother watches a film. He's almost three. At just two he wasn't interested at all.

Whyislarryhappy · 30/11/2018 18:11

Ds is 3 now but when he was 2 he loved toy story and finding nemo!
He loves incredibles and happy feet too!

WineGummyBear · 30/11/2018 18:16

Oh, fab. Thanks for the recommendations.

My ds is nearly 2 and loved watching The nightmare before Christmas when we watched it at Halloween ! His eyes never left the screen!

Also loves Disney’s Robin Hood, the lion king and the aristocats

PinkAvocado · 30/11/2018 18:17

At two, mine would never sit through a full length film but like a pp, shorts like Stickman, The Gruffalo and WGOABH he could.

LilMadAgain · 30/11/2018 18:19

Barney's Great Adventure or Thomas and the Magic Railroad. Oddly enough Jumanji was very popular then and now too.

Safeandwarm · 30/11/2018 18:25

My 2 year old likes the Thomas movies and Charlie Brown. He did watch some of the old whinnie the Pooh films too when ill. But he has to be a dopey kind of sleepy for a film, not a climbing up the walls throwing stuff about kind if sleepy. The later is more common than the former unfortunately Grin.

KarineAimee · 30/11/2018 18:42

DD loves Moana, The Jungle Book, all 3 Madagascar films, The Secret Life of Pets.

LunaLovesgood · 30/11/2018 19:05

Mines obsessed with Coco. We've watched it 1029940631 times now Confused
