Proud owner of my first ever bath mat, how often do they need washing?

Just that really, daily, weekly, biweekly or just whenever remembered? Does it need washing less if you hang it on radiator to dry at night after use? Very excited to actually have one now so no more wet bathroom floor so done want to mess it up

Mine probably go in once a week or more often if they get grubby.
I wouldn't overthink, just do what you want Wink

We only use ours for DS. When he's had his bath I take it up and stick it to the wall.

trebleclef101 · 26/11/2018 12:02

Mine go in with the towels, so about once a week (we have two).

God - Hardly ever Blush Your feet are clean when they come out of the shower/bath after all.

They always go in the airing cupboard when used, so dry pretty quickly. I tend to wash them when they start to smell stale, once every three months or so probably Blush Blush Blush

halfwitpicker · 26/11/2018 12:04

Theoretically, once a week.

Realisitically for me, once a month.

cjt110 · 26/11/2018 12:04

Oh sorry, I didn't read properly and thought you meant the one that goes IN the bath Blush

keepingbees · 26/11/2018 12:06

I put mine in with each towel wash, so very regularly. But ours do get quite wet and I have a ds who misses the toilet quite often!

Littlechocola · 26/11/2018 12:08

We have two and rotate. They go in the towel wash each week.

Sheitgeist · 26/11/2018 12:13

When it starts to smell.

Time40 · 26/11/2018 12:17

When it starts to look a bit dirty.

IAmRubbishAtDIY · 26/11/2018 12:21

Once a week, when I clean the bathroom itself.

lyndar · 26/11/2018 12:21

Yes once a week with bedding and towels

QuestionableMouse · 26/11/2018 12:23

They can get smelly because they're warm and damp quite a lot. We have a few and change them so they get washed about once a week.

OkToday · 26/11/2018 14:12

Thank you once a week seems the norm so will go with that. I wash/change the towels daily as all dc have eczema si have to use bath/shower oil and it leave the towels feeling vile, so my towel washing habits aren't always the best guide.

You'll know it it needs a wash because it'll look grubby.

IdblowJonSnow · 26/11/2018 16:23

Once or twice a month. Would do it weekly if I had less washing in general.

Juanbablo · 26/11/2018 17:09

Every couple of days mine get washed.

RockinRobinTweets · 26/11/2018 17:12

I’m waiting for the first to say after each use...

Probably once a month. Take it off the floor after it’s been used so it dries, unless you have underfloor heating

Nedzilla · 26/11/2018 17:16

around once per week, that's when we wash all the towels etc so it goes in one load

BobbinThreadbare123 · 26/11/2018 17:21

Once a week. In with the towels.

FourFuxxakes · 26/11/2018 17:26

4x a day on a boil wash, according to some people on here which is pointless because only your feet touch them and only after you've been in the shower. I wash ours every other week. In between uses it goes on the radiator to dry.

MarklahMarklah · 26/11/2018 17:27

Mine gets done when I was the towels.

PattiStanger · 26/11/2018 17:31

When it's dirty surely, washing should be based on personal need not what other people do.

stressedoutpa · 26/11/2018 17:33

Once a week

MeadowHay · 26/11/2018 17:39

Ours gets done probs around once a month, and always before we get house guests even if we've not long had a clean one. We have two so one goes in the wash whilst I get the clean one out. There's only the two of us though, and 5mo DD who obviously doesn't use it yet. We tend to dry our feet with our towel a bit before we stand on it too so it doesn't get that wet.
