Girls, what's your make up routine?

Rottie454 · 24/11/2018 20:56

So I've always been pretty rubbish with make up, my routine consisted of moisturiser, foundation, eyebrow pencil and blusher. I'm now looking to improve my make up and have only just learnt there's things such as eye shadow and eyelash primer! So what is my must need kit? What do I need to have an amazing looking face? Thanks ladies Smile

This is mine. Doesn't take long

Charlotte Tilbury primer
Clinique Even Better foundation
Max Factor concealer (like a pen)
No 7 loose powder
Rimmel bronzer/blusher (Kate moss one)
Mascara
Lip gloss

SavageBeauty73 · 24/11/2018 21:01

Only use eye shadow if going out

Bellabonkers · 24/11/2018 21:04

You need to add a decent mascara. It really makes your eyes wider and brighter.

Also a nice lipstick or lip gloss.
On tired days I swear by touche eclait concealer for under eyes. By yves saint Laurent
.

Gosh it takes me a shit ton to look all dewy and natural 🤣

Bobbi brown primer
Chanel foundation
Chanel les beiges powder
Armani concealer
Bobbi brown eye shadow in bone
Bobbi brown eye liner in brown
Lancôme mascara
Eye brow powder
Chanel blusher
Stila highlighter in kitten--- gives the dewy look.
Then a lip coloured lip pencil and lipstick currently Bobbi brown but it varies,

Only takes five mins to put it on, but it's a lot when written down. 🤣

Girls? Hmm

Bellabonkers · 24/11/2018 21:09

Also in winter I use a gradual tan moisturiser on my face to give me a healthy glow.
Garnier summer body is a good one.

Fatted · 24/11/2018 21:09

Mine is
Foundation
(Under eye primer when I can be bothered)
Eye shadow
Concealer under eyes
Mascara
(Do my contouring here if I'm on a rare night out)
Powder
More mascara
Draw on eyebrows
Powder Blusher
More mascara
(Eyeliner if I'm going somewhere fancy)

RedRedBluee · 24/11/2018 21:16

Nice makeup is important to me and I wear a lot of it. But it depends on the look you’re going for.
Nice eyeshadows (ABH & huda beauty palettes are my favourites), loose powder, mascara, concealer, and setting spray are vital and good quality brushes make a big difference.
My routine is moisturiser, primer, eye primer, eyeshadow, concealer, apply foundation with beauty blender, more concealer, loose powder, eyeliner, eyebrows, brush off excess powder, highlighter, setting spray, mascara, then lips.
Watch YouTube makeup videos to learn how to apply eyeshadow and eyeliner.

Chesneyhawkes1 · 24/11/2018 21:19

@HughLauriesStubble I had permanent eyeliner done once. Most painful experience ever! Worse than the real tattoos I've got down my ribs. Never, ever again 😬

Bellabonkers · 24/11/2018 21:23

What is this setting spray? I've never heard of it. How do you use It?

NonaGrey · 24/11/2018 21:27

Girls? On Mumsnet, you are taking your life in your hands OP.

I have only just learnt there's things such as eye shadow

How is this possible? Genuinely? How even just by observation don’t you know about eye shadow? I’m intrigued.

BifsWif · 24/11/2018 21:30

Daytime

Primer. (Niod)
CC cream (IT cosmetics)
Concealer ( Tarte shape tape)
Blusher. (Smashbox)
Highlighter (Doll Ten or Tarte)
Lipgloss. (Vaseline or a tinted one)
Mascara. (Tarte man eater)

For a night out I add contour (smashbox), eyeshadow (Anastasia Beverley Hills) and eyeliner (Tarte).

WomanAndProud · 24/11/2018 21:40

Thankfully I grew up and am no longer a girl. As a woman I can't be arsed with makeup. Wink

ladybirdsarelovely33 · 24/11/2018 21:40

Yeah less of the 'girls'.

Cheby · 24/11/2018 21:56

...have only just learnt there's things such as eye shadow...

Did you previously think some people just had naturally green/blue/smokey eyelids?

TheHauntedFishtank · 24/11/2018 21:56

Absolutely bugger all. Can’t use moisturiser etc as have a skin condition and don’t bother with make-up except for a night out.

halfwitpicker · 24/11/2018 21:59

Girls?

Rottie454 · 24/11/2018 21:59

nona and cheby

I don't mean eyeshadow I mean eyeshadow primer.

I would change my post but unfortunately I can't :(

Benefit brow stuff
Benefit boing
Benefit bad gal lash
Maybelline B.B. cream
Benefit watts up
Benefit rockstar or dandelion

Takes about three minutes.

Poster65 · 24/11/2018 22:28

Oh my gawd I’ve only just started using eyeshadow primer , what a difference it’s made

Witchend · 24/11/2018 22:37

None. The only time I used makeup is on the children when going on stage.
It gets you interesting looks when you stand in a queue and discuss with your ds whether he wants to try mascara and whether he has enough blusher left. He also thinks it's very funny at the counter to tell the person there that the make up's for him. They don't really know how to respond. Grin

Fluffyears · 24/11/2018 22:41

Primer is essential andso is fixing spray.

Aquamarine1029 · 24/11/2018 22:42

Moisturizer
Eye Cream
Under eye concealer
CC Cream from It Cosmetics (amazing!)
Bright pink blush well blended
Curl eyelashes
Mascara
Setting powder
Natural pinky nude tones lip gloss
Occasional nude eyeshadow

Takes me less than 8 minutes
