Girls, what's your make up routine?

Rottie454 · 24/11/2018 20:56

So I've always been pretty rubbish with make up, my routine consisted of moisturiser, foundation, eyebrow pencil and blusher. I'm now looking to improve my make up and have only just learnt there's things such as eye shadow and eyelash primer! So what is my must need kit? What do I need to have an amazing looking face? Thanks ladies Smile

Mine is:

Foundation
Concealer
Mascara
Eyeliner
Eyebrow pencil
Blusher
Lipliner
Lipstick

I have no problem with the word 'girls'. People overreact to the slightest thing.

BlancheM · 24/11/2018 22:51

Well I tend to wear a lot, currently no foundation though, but after all the powders are on, i.e., bronzer, loose finishing powder, blush, highlighter, the game changer is spraying it all to give a glow (this will also take away any 'cakey'-ness). I alternate between a body shop strawberry one and MAC fix+ . Use it when applying eyeshadows aswell especially metallic ones, for a 100% better colour payoff.

Liquid eyeliner
Lipbalm
Pencil eyeliner on lips to create a purpleish shade
Hairspray entire face Grin

NonaGrey · 24/11/2018 23:03

I don't mean eyeshadow I mean eyeshadow primer

Ah ha! That makes so much more sense Rottie Grin

In answer then to your original question, I have a less is more approach to make up for day to day.

Expensive moisturiser with SFP.
Good quality concealer..
A dab of powder.
Mascara and coloured Vaseline.

I like to look like me.

Pieceofpurplesky · 24/11/2018 23:06

Daytime - wash my face and moisturise. No make up.

Evening if I am going out - a touch of concealer, loose powder and mascara.

If it's a very special occasion I will use eyeshadow and blusher.

I am low maintenance but am very lucky to have good skin.

SavageBeauty73 · 24/11/2018 23:14

I need an eyeshadow primer

anitagreen · 24/11/2018 23:25

Mine is
Primer
Eyebrows using the revolution pomade
Cut my eyebrows in with concealer
Then I'll usually do a cut crease with eyeshadow
Huda beauty foundation
Rcma powder to set
Powder contour
Blusher
Set my face wth setting spray
Then highlight my nose, top of cheek bones, chin and inner corner of eye and under eyebrow,
False lashes
Lip liner and lipstick or a liquid lip.
Takes 1 hour roughly

anitagreen · 24/11/2018 23:27

Setting spray is amazing you could just set with powder but a spray really locks it all in and it won't budge at all.

SapphireSeptember · 25/11/2018 00:12

Eyeshadow (whatever colour I fancy, this morning it was matte yellow with some gold dabbed onto the middle of my eyelids,) applied with my fingers, then I apply eyeliner in pencil form (black, I was going for a Hufflepuff theme.)
Highlighter (see above) also applied with my fingers.
Then lipstick or lipgloss (bright orange.)
As you can see I'm incredibly half arsed about the whole thing, never wear foundation, bronzer, blusher or contour or do my eyebrows (although I'll occasionally wear white face powder.)

BikeRunSki · 25/11/2018 00:16

Tinted moisturiser and lipstick if I’m going “out out”. Bit more effort if it’s a wedding - including mine. That’s about it.

Fredathetortoise · 25/11/2018 00:22

I'm a woman, not a girl.

Wear make-up or not, as you chose, but your face looks amazing with or without it.

Bellabonkers · 25/11/2018 00:28

What is a good brand of setting spray anyone?

CelebratingMyOwnSelf · 25/11/2018 00:52

All the setting sprays I have used are rubbish(mac studio fix is highly recommended by my friends.. I don't like the price though)
My routine is
Serum on face/neck
Spray with garner fine mist
Leave to dry and get dressed
Eye cream
Concealer under eyes around nose, top lip and chin (Clinique chubby stick)
Light foundation on cheeks (true match)
Eye powder liner under eyes (very subtly)
Eye shadow (🔝 both w7 nude pallate)
Mascara (Any one I pick up in the supermarket)
Blush (w7)
Highlighter on top of cheeks, cupids bow, little on the end of my nose. (benifit what's up)
At the moment I'm using a super drugs own setting spray- don't bother
Takes me 10 mins

A580Hojas · 25/11/2018 03:35
