What's everyone up to today?

lucysmam · 24/11/2018 09:39

We're just finishing breakfast then going to get sorted for going Christmas jumper shopping. Might pick up a couple of gifts in town as well...if I spy something my dad would like.

When we get home, I have a bit of paperwork to sort, will cook meatballs and spaghetti for tea and we'll probably watch X-Factor

What's everyone else doing?

Wondering about cleaning the house.

DH and I really aren’t getting along so I need to come up with some distractions so we’re not hanging around sniping at each other.

Sewing, sewing and more sewing.
Might fit in the odd cup of tea.

Butternutsquashy · 24/11/2018 09:58

Take DD for a haircut, maybe indoor play area for a couple hours then out for dinner with family. Until 12pm I’m sitting in my pjs reading and drinking tea though!

Cuzcothellama · 24/11/2018 09:58

Going to a family gathering. I've made a lovely plum crumble cake and one of those sugar free clean eating type lemon cakes is in the oven for my DDad, who is diabetic.

About to wash the DC and they want their hair curled, so it'll be like a pamper party!

Got some uni work and cleaning to do later on.

UsernameTaken76 · 24/11/2018 10:04

DH is cooking sausage sandwiches and then taking me into town for cocktails with my friend as a belated birthday present. I think he’s going to house clean and put stuff on EBay. Need to decide on dinner plans post cocktails

Parky04 · 24/11/2018 10:06

Meeting up with an old school friend. A day on the beer watching rugby and football!

SageYourResoluteOracle · 24/11/2018 10:46

I knew this would be your thread @lucysmam - I find these threads really comforting.

Just now, having slept in seeing as DD's musical theatre class has finished for the term, I'm in pjs in bed with the heated blanket on and DH has brought me breakfast in bed (porridge with berries, toast and tea!)

DD is watching a film - only time in the week where's she's allowed to watch an iPad and DH is watching telly downstairs.

Washing is on and while that whizzes round, I'm going to finish a bit of work and do the school fair risk assessment (v important PTA duties...)

Later I've a leg wax (and chin, lip and eyebrows - look like a yeti at the moment) then we're all meeting in town to watch a Christmas performance and light parade before the Christmas lights switch on. We've booked a table for dinner for afterwards. Bit of a tradition and seems more poignant than usual as I'm awaiting ah emergency neurological appointment... I've all the symptoms of MS and feel fairly rubbish. I'm trying to intersperse bouts of activity with a lot of rest. I just don't want DD to miss out and I don't much feel like missing out either. So, a nice day planned but feeling a bit scared and worried about what's to come Confused

ScouseQueen · 24/11/2018 10:52

It's DS's school Christmas fair today so we're off to that soon. Then going to send him and DH shopping while I potter. Hope your appointment goes well when it happens sage.

NoLeslie · 24/11/2018 10:53

Sage Flowers I hope everything turns out ok.

I have things I should do
Studying
Cleaning
Gardening
Buying charity shoe box and food bank stuff
Forcing kids into the outdoors
Nagging about homework

But so far I've had a shower and a bag of crisps and not even got dressed. Need motivation.

lucysmam · 24/11/2018 10:53

@SageYourResoluteOracle I like the what are you doing/eating/wearing type threads :)

I forgot the important part of today...Panto tickets to collect I think I'm more excited than the kids Xmas Grin

Got some friends coming to stay so just been making up the spare bed. We'll have a walk around the village with a lunch/cake stop, then going for an Indian meal tonight Grin

DonaldDucksTowel · 24/11/2018 10:57

We’re all very very tired so we’re spending most of the day in pjs in front of various screens

DGAF today 😴

MrsPear · 24/11/2018 10:58

I’m sitting with a cup of tea whilst the boys are playing at footie club. Youngest has just wondered out fora cuddle - I’ve sent him back. The coach followed looking worried. Sometimes you have to just be tough. I’ll go and check in a minute.

After it is home and lunch. There is washing, ironing and homework but as we have no plans tomorrow it can be done slowly.

Chill weekend tbh

Bluesheep8 · 24/11/2018 10:59

sage handhold from me. I have MS, diagnosed 20 years ago. Even if it does turn out to be that, it honestly may not turn out to be the end of your world as you know it x

Bluesheep8 · 24/11/2018 11:02

And I'll help if I can should you want to ask anything.

Escolar · 24/11/2018 11:03

Mainly acting as a taxi service to sports matches and birthday parties. With some exciting laundry, tidying etc in between. Then Strictly tonight!

Bluesheep8 · 24/11/2018 11:03

Apologies for thread hijack!

youarenotkiddingme · 24/11/2018 11:04

Already been out at 6.45 to take ds training 😴

Currently watching F1.

Will head out to get petrol in between practice and qualifying and then home to cook lunch and do some housework.

Off or later (hence need for petrol!) to cinema to watch Nativity Rocks. Will likely do some Xmas bits if shopping as 2 whole weekends in December are taken uk with ds competing!

HemlockStarglimmer · 24/11/2018 11:08

Getting ready to go to work.

AlrightBabby · 24/11/2018 11:09

Hiring the Rug Doctor, I'm expecting great things Grin

SheHasNotions · 24/11/2018 11:14

I’ve had a nice, lazy morning while DH did the Saturday morning kids sports activities. Lovely!

Taking DD out for a bit of Christmas shopping & lunch soon, then taking her and a friend to see The Grinch.

Have agreed to DD’s friend sleeping over, so although I’m planning on a cosy night on the sofa watching TV and an early night, I’ll probably be managing two over excited 10 yr old girls fighting sleep in reality Grin

whojamaflip · 24/11/2018 11:20

Up early to take eldest to work for 7 and have been pottering since while trying to get the smallest boy to pack his kit for scout camp! Off in a minute to take oldest dd to training, then drop small boy and friend to camp. Hang around in town for a couple of hours until training is finished then home. Supper, wine and knitting in front of the tv later 😊

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 24/11/2018 11:56

Ballet-heavy day today. Currently in DD's grade 1 class, then this afternoon I'm taking her to see the Nutcracker.

DH and DS are going to the library and also to get DS a little reward for getting his first Headteacher's Award yesterday.

gottachangethename1 · 24/11/2018 12:14

Feeling very poorly, just a heavy cold but it’s floored me. Went to local shops and now ensconced on sofa with cup of tea . Dh at work and adult dd our with boyfriend, so I can cough, sniff and dribble to my heart’s content.
