Heatiskillingme · 22/11/2018 08:48

Some crisps/nibbly bits, prawns, breadsticks/dips

Jackshouse · 22/11/2018 08:48

I am crap at these things but just pizza for the kids won’t the adults tuck in too.

Olives? Homous? Crisps?

GlitterRollerSkate · 22/11/2018 08:49

Pineapple and cheese on sticks!

StealthPolarBear · 22/11/2018 08:49

The kids will have other bits too but that'll just top them up. The pizza will be guarded ;)
Prawns. Spring rolls. Cheese always gets ignored. Thank you

Olives and crisps. Excellent.

An average of six items per person. E.g. one each of sausage roll. sandwich. meat portion. Veg portion. Salad. Lentil bake.
Take care with rice salad - rice is great for food poisoning especially if you're not used to big parties.

RoseMartha · 22/11/2018 08:50

Another vegetarian option

StealthPolarBear · 22/11/2018 08:51

Mum is doing the rice salad :)

StealthPolarBear · 22/11/2018 08:51

MsMightyTitanAndHerTroubadours · 22/11/2018 08:52

sausage rolls...NOT A BUFFET unless there are sausage rolls.

little teeny tiny ones, warm from the oven, so make three times as many as you think you will need, set them on trays and cook as you go!

StealthPolarBear · 22/11/2018 08:52

Sorry should say this is a family do and there are some vegis, including me but I do know they all like this stuff and in fact all the others eat fish too so if I do Prawns the woll have that

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 22/11/2018 08:52

OK sausage rolls. Kids will like those

OP posts:
BuffaloCauliflower · 22/11/2018 08:52

Potato salad always gets demolished when I do I buffet.
I can’t believe cheese would ever get ignored - who are these people?!

StealthPolarBear · 22/11/2018 08:54

Well the cheese tends to come out as a separate course by which time people are stuffed. Is that where I'm going wrong

OP posts:
LiquoricePickle · 22/11/2018 08:54

You can do cheese and onion rolls if you want veggie. I second or third spring rolls or Samosa

foodiefil · 22/11/2018 08:55

More carbs? Rice and pasta and potatoes?

StealthPolarBear · 22/11/2018 08:56

It'll be a rice or pasta salad. I've asked my mum to do whichever she prefers

Trampire · 22/11/2018 08:56

Oh definitely gave the cheese out, unwrapped and ready to go. The Stilton always goes first at our family buffets!

Could add in a veggie quiche? The meat eaters can eat that too,

I always buy LOTS of high quality chipolata sausages. They always go first. You could add in some veggie sausages too?
