Is Primark genuinely good value for pyjamas ?

Don't want a wasted trip.
Fleece bottoms and flannelette bottoms is what I am after. Does Primark material shrivel up two sizes in a normal 40 degree wash, go wonky and/or does the stitching come apart?
Haven't been for ages and as the saying goes, buy cheap, buy twice.

Any thoughts? Flowers

For the price they're ok, they won't last forever but do the job. If you can afford to spend more I probably would do tbf OP.

I have pyjamas from primark all the time and they last for ages! I usually get the cotton summer ones, the fleece ones or the flanalette type ones they wash well. I don't buy the £6 ones because they don't wash that well but the sets for £8-£10 or more are the best.

ExplodedPeach · 21/11/2018 14:25

I haven't bought flannel from there but their fleece ones are great in my experience. Never shrunk or gone wonky, the odd hole in a seam after a few years of use. I had a couple of pairs go slightly hard, less fluffy, but I think that was because my mum ironed them and they probably melted slightly. God knows why she thought fleece PJs need ironing Confused so I wouldn't let that put you off!

A friend had flannel ones and they didn't look as nice as my fat face ones, not that they didn't last well, just that they weren't such nice thick material.

Also I have bought pyjamas for £20 before now and they didn't last anywhere near as well!

DunkandEggAgain · 21/11/2018 14:47

Thanks guys!

I've decided to live in fleece pyjamas and thick jumpers for this winter. Long tshirts from hm basic range, fluffy socks and I'm good to go.

Primark it is.

The fleece ones are brilliant. DD loves in them through winter. Don't touch anything jersey material it will be out of shape in one wash.

happypotamus · 21/11/2018 15:15

I buy all my pyjamas in primark, but they last a long time so I don't have to go very often. I have never had a problem with them shrinking in the wash.

MissLadyM · 21/11/2018 15:20

The £6 cotton sets are great. They wash lovely, don't shrink and last well

Hihellohi · 21/11/2018 15:22

I have had pjs from primark for years, they are great quality and so soft. Go for it!

halcyondays · 21/11/2018 15:23

I've had loads of their fleecy pyjamas and they're great.Very comfy and last ages. I prefer them to any others I've had. DD has a nightie which has been good too.

Storm4star · 21/11/2018 15:27

I love primark pj's! Loads of cool designs and really comfy. Mine have all kept their shape well and I live in them in the winter.

MrsJayy · 21/11/2018 15:31

Tbh i was converted to Asda last christmas primark had changed sizing so I got present ones from Asda dds are still wearing them.

DunkandEggAgain · 21/11/2018 15:33

Dunno about asda. I bought bottoms from there and within a week the seam up the back had split. I KNOW I've a fat arse but I was not impressed.

Can't speak for primark but the cheap Asda ones are fine

Sheitgeist · 21/11/2018 15:33

I have several pairs of fluffy fleece pyjamas from Primark. They are very long lasting and hard-wearing.

Chocolatecake12 · 21/11/2018 15:34

Love my flannel pj bottoms from primark - they now have a big hole in the seam but I’ve had them about 6 years!

Heismyopendoor · 21/11/2018 15:35

I have a long night dress from primark that’s as old as my DD, she’s ten 😂 it still looks the same!

I think their pjs hold up quite well

Annasgirl · 21/11/2018 15:36

Primary PJs are definitely long lasting. Way better cost per wear than more expensive ones. Off you go and buy some - they have lovely tartan fleece ones at the moment.

Annasgirl · 21/11/2018 15:36

Primark!!! Autocorrect

Sheitgeist · 21/11/2018 15:36

I bought (women's) fleecy pyjamas from Asda recently for DD. The top was OK but a bit thin, the bottoms went bobbly after the first wash and were too short. DD is only 5'4.

ginyogarepeat · 21/11/2018 15:39

No. I've stopped buying as they all got holes fairly quickly. For a few pounds more I can get some from M&S value range that last years longer. In my opinion, buying from primark is a false economy - only good for throwaway fashion, which is terrible for the environment.

ginyogarepeat · 21/11/2018 15:40

Seemingly I'm alone in this however - just RTTT! My pjs from primark never lasted!

Witchend · 21/11/2018 15:41

I only got them when the children were small but I tended to find them very short in the bottom area.

MrsJayy · 21/11/2018 15:41

Och thats a shame Asda jammies were rubbish they were fine last year be primark then

newtothisriver · 21/11/2018 15:46

I always wonder if I live in a parallel universe where they keep the crap version of Primark. Can never work out why everyone thinks their stuff is so good, it's literally the shitest of the shit.
