What did you crave in pregnancy? Sweet or savoury?

Inspired by another thread, I craved sweet food with both of my pregnancies and both were girls - chocolate with the first and orange juice with the second.

Does savoury mean boy and sweet mean girl? What were your cravings?

Nope. Meant nothing for me. Craved hot sauce and salt and vinegar Pringles in both pregnancies. Have a boy and a girl. And a lot of weight to lose 😂

Escolar · 19/11/2018 21:56

Savoury - chicken mayo. I had a boy.

DragonMamma · 19/11/2018 21:57

It did for me. Girl - moam and fruitella sweets. Boy - curry and chips from the chip shop.

Anything salt and vinegar and chewing gums- girl

CleverWittyUsername · 19/11/2018 21:59

With my boy, all savoury especially crisps
With my girl I was too sick to care or crave stuff until late into 2nd tri, then it was sushi and anything sweet

ChodeofChodeHall · 19/11/2018 21:59

Sweets! I ate lots of Millions and drank gallons of grape soda and Rubicon Mango. Had a boy.

BedHair · 19/11/2018 22:04

Anything that kept the nausea at bay, which turned out to mean mostly barbecue-flavoured Hula Hoops. For nine months.

Boy.

Mamaogden · 19/11/2018 22:05

Crunchy pickles. I never thought it was due to sex (female), rather a deficiency my body needed.

mouse26 · 19/11/2018 22:07

To start with Satsumas and salad sandwiches. Unfortunately everything I ate made me projectile vomit 🤢 after about five months I craved kfc chicken and Haribo sweets. Had a boy

Stephisaur · 19/11/2018 22:09

Salty stuff, spicy food and cheese. Having a boy.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 19/11/2018 22:10

All sweet stuff for me- was closing to calling my DD muffin Grin
Went right off savoury food too

MuddlingThroughLife · 19/11/2018 22:10

Dd1 I couldn't get enough of Mr Kipling lemon slices.

Dd2 I used to have plain boiled pasta with no sauce or anything at all on it. Loved the stuff. Had it most meals.

Ds no cravings at all.

Taffeta · 19/11/2018 22:11

DS - Weetabix & melon - he hates both (he’s 15)
DD - nothing - she eats most food

Crunchymum · 19/11/2018 22:12

I had more of a sweet tooth with my girl pregnancies.

thismeansnothing · 19/11/2018 22:15

First pregnancy salty/savoury. This pregnancy sugar. Both girls

pollysproggle · 19/11/2018 22:16

First pregnancy- hot dogs in baked beans and bacon. I'm a vegetarian so that was fun.

Second- apples! I would eat a pack of 6 jazz apples everyday I couldn't get enough.

Both boys!

sunshineandshowers21 · 19/11/2018 22:19

no cravings with my first (boy), chewing on tissues with second (boy), and chew bars with my third (girl).

Esker · 19/11/2018 22:28

Watercress 😂 I used to think 'cravings' were a loaf of old shite people made up to justify eating at whatever they wanted but I soon learnt how wrong I was when I began daydreaming about watercress, stockpiling watercress, eating entire bags of watercress in one sitting, and devising new ways to eat watercress (including watercress ice cream, a dream sadly unrealised).

I also really wanted to eat tons of unhealthy stuff like doughnuts, pizza, waffles etc but unfortunately had to be pretty strict as I have type 1 diabetes and carbs made my blood sugar crazy Angry

I later realised that the watercress craving was probably due to iron deficiency. I LOATHED taking iron supplements and said to my midwife that I'd eat my way to better iron levels with watercress. She was like 'That's impossible. You'd have to eat a ridiculous amount of watercress.' Well, I seem to have managed as I pretty much skipped all my iron supplements and still managed to get iron to acceptable level.

Esker · 19/11/2018 22:31

Oops forgot to say... I had a boy!

kayakingmum · 19/11/2018 22:32

I've really gone off chocolate, coffee and spicy food.
Currently crave things like a bowl of jordens raspberry country crisp with milk then warmed up in the microwave. Really warm and comforting.

NoWaterOnlyWine · 19/11/2018 22:39

Sponges Grin

Mamaogden · 19/11/2018 22:44

Burlea · 19/11/2018 22:50
