How long does it take you to drink a bottle of wine?

And how drunk do you get?

I find if I have loads of water with it (a big bottle of carbonated) it can take four hours, by which time I'm happy, but hydrated 'drunk'.

Can easily sink a bottle in one night , have plenty of cold water as well ,
Feel fine , maybe a little tired in the morning
Not
Every night
Though

Ragwort · 17/11/2018 20:19

In theory I could easily drink a bottle of wine in about two hours, I wouldn’t be rolling on the floor drunk but I would obviously not be driving, but I could still have a sensible discussion and might have a mild headache the next day.

BikeRunSki · 17/11/2018 20:23

DH and I are so old and exhausted by dc that we can make another last 2 or 3 nights between us.

In my 20s I could drink a bottle to myself in a couple of hours.

Red, maybe a couple of hours.
I don’t really ever drink wine because I love it but it hates my head.

Biancadelriosback · 17/11/2018 20:24

A couple of hours easily! But usually I'll make a bottle last a couple of days

dementedpixie · 17/11/2018 20:25

2-3 hours. Don't have water. Feel ok if a bit dry mouthed in the morning. Only have it on a Friday night though

MrsCar · 17/11/2018 20:27

About 2-2.5 hours. Just feel happy and relaxed.
Foggy head the next day.

I try to do it over two nights though

lucysmam · 17/11/2018 20:39

Tonight...about three hours with a HUGE cup of tea after glass two, after I had my shower. I've just poured my last glass now.

Usually, two large glasses on a Friday night and one on a Tuesday night, and that's it for the week.

BlessedBeTheFruitCake · 17/11/2018 20:44

I'm tipsy after one glass so a bottle would last a few days. Blush

PiggeryPorcombe · 17/11/2018 20:45

Two nights.

Figgygal · 17/11/2018 20:46

I couldn't drink a bottle in one night anymore

Pascha · 17/11/2018 20:46

A few days here. I might have a small glass occasionally and dh a large one most nights.

BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou · 17/11/2018 20:49

DH and I opened a bottle at 8.30 (pm not am) and will definitely finish it tonight. We did the same last night. The only time we don’t finish a bottle is if, for some reason we have opened a second bottle (rarely happens if we are on our own).

We don’t generally drink during the week though.

MyAuntyBadger · 17/11/2018 20:50

Up until a year ago I could easily finish one in about two hours. I've gone off it lately though, not sure why but I'm ridiculously thirsty after the first glass and need loads of water. Might be my age, I'm 51.

AutumnalFeelings · 17/11/2018 21:02

God I love wine. Struggle to make a bottle last more than a few hours Blush only do it once or twice a week though. I'm pretty normal - don't act pissed or anything, just relaxed. Not quite as sprightly first thing though. Never crack into a second bottle unless I'm prepared to be properly hungover the next day!

BitchQueen90 · 17/11/2018 21:04

I don't drink at all when I'm home with DS but unfortunately I am a bit of a binge drinker, about once a month or so when DS is with his dad. I can drink 2 bottles of wine to myself over an evening. I get fairly drunk but not blackout drunk and don't get a hangover if I make sure I get enough sleep.

PickAChew · 17/11/2018 21:07

Usually a couple of nights. Occasionally polish off a particularly tasty bottle and feel quite pished for it.

anniehm · 17/11/2018 21:21

Not long, but I have older teens who help themselves!

SellFridges · 17/11/2018 21:34

We often get through two bottles over a weekend night. DH isn’t drinking at the moment so I’m also drinking a bit less - probably a bottle would last two nights.

BillywigSting · 17/11/2018 21:40

Before dc, two bottles of red, a couple of beers and a spirit or two in one night wasn't unheard of. I would be pretty drunk but functional the next day.

Now, a single bottle can last two nights between me and dp. I will be merry after two small glasses.

Grauniad · 17/11/2018 21:43

A week, if DS helps.

We're not, erm, big drinkers.

JudasPrudy · 17/11/2018 21:46

A couple of hours but I would be drunk if I had an entire bottle to myself. I used to drink a bottle to get me started on a night out in my twentiesConfused

PolaDeVeboise · 17/11/2018 21:47

DH and I get through @ 2 bottles on a Friday night and 3 on a Saturday. No hangovers next day.

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 17/11/2018 21:48

About 2 hours (but could drink in 1 easily)
Get drunk but not out of control

iwantasofa · 17/11/2018 21:52

A week for me too. Unless it is prosecco or similar, then a night (but we rarely have that).
