Where can I get school uniform trousers in store now?

To be fair I’ve only been in Tesco (can you believe that they only stock uniform at back to school time?) but want to avoid shlepping round too many other shops with DS in tow as I’m 39 weeks pg.

Nearby I have Matalan and sainbos, but could travel further afield if need be.

I need to go in store ideally rather than on line as I need ds to try on. He’s outgrown the ones we bought at the beginning of this term, but the next size up from the same shop (Asda) that we already have are massive!

In store the best bet is probably John Lewis or m&s .

Next to free next day delivery to store though so you could order in a couple to try, try them in store and return In store.

M and s

MrsJayy · 17/11/2018 17:19

Try marks and spencers they were my go to for random bits of uniform mid term. My first thought wasAsda but you said they were no good.

Thanks. We do have an M&S in town actually but may need a bigger one for this.

DS is in reception so not had this issue before, I assumed that uniform would be freely available in shops all year round. Do children only grow conveniently termly? Already had to go and get new school shoes too, his feet have gone up 2 whole sizes since the summer!

M and S and Next do alternate sizes
So one is 9/10 11/12. The other 10/11 12/13

Worth knowing

Also - have a girl next time - skirts just rise!! Saves money

Eminybob · 17/11/2018 17:34

Thanks, I think I’ll take a look in m&s tomorrow.

Unfortunatley GreenTulips it’s a bit late for that, no2 is apparently going to be another boy!

M&S do every size, it's just labelled 10-11, 11-12 etc. I have bought both those sizes.

OP, they have the waist and inside leg measurements on the M&S website if you need to order online.

redsummershoes · 17/11/2018 17:48

our sainsb has a school basics aisle all year round.
m&s as well (and they do click&collect)

MrsJayy · 17/11/2018 18:22

Yes he will grow montht before the end of term and his spare pair of trousers will have a hole in them 😁

OhioOhioOhio · 17/11/2018 18:24

Amazon

Eminybob · 17/11/2018 18:27

That’s another reason I’m keen avoid Adsa MrsJayy, his current trousers went patchy at the knees after only a couple of weeks.
I think I underestimated how much uniform he’d need. And coats Sad

MrsJayy I use iron on mending tape for holes. Only costs a couple of pounds for a metre.

Eminybob · 17/11/2018 18:31

Oh and how come all of his white shirts have a tinge of grey already despite only washing with other whites and putting in a scoop of vanish every time?

Matalan have all year round school shop.

danni0509 · 17/11/2018 18:34

Matalan, I was in there this week.

Eminybob · 17/11/2018 18:35

In store? That’s good to know, Matalan would be the easiest for me to get to.

E20mom · 17/11/2018 18:36

M&s definitely has loads

BlueJava · 17/11/2018 18:38

Next and M&S

AliceLutherNeeMorgan · 17/11/2018 18:39

A decent size Sainsbury’s will have the basic stuff. But M and S is usually the quickest for click and collect (and free unlike JL)

danni0509 · 17/11/2018 18:39

@Eminybob yep matalan instore,

BikeRunSki · 17/11/2018 18:52

Next have uniform to order into store all year round. It’s really good quality too. I hade some polo shirts on their 3rd year (DS for 2 years, now dd).

Zoflorabore · 17/11/2018 18:57

I've had to buy both of mine uniform this weekend. Dd is in year 3, I bought hers in Marks and Spencer and ds is in year 11 but has lost 5st this year so keep having to buy smaller stuff every 5 minutes so have been to Asda today for his ( men's section ) as I was buying it all from M&S and was costing a fortune.

There wasn't a lot of choice in M&S but Asda do have a dedicated all year round uniform shop too ( I know it's no good for you for trousers ) so I'm assuming Tesco/Sainsbury's will be the same.

I'm praying ds's feet have stopped growing as he's now a size 14Grin

Bloody Nora Shock he has to stop growing soon right?

Watto1 · 17/11/2018 21:41

Have you got an independent school outfitters near you? Probably very expensive, but will definitely have the stock in.

DrDiva · 17/11/2018 21:47

Definitely M&S - you can order inline and have it delivered to the store?

That’s if your school has grey or black trousers. Not some random colour like DS’s school [slightly bitter]
