I am genuinely horrified that in this day and age he has become so prominent in politics. Who the hell is voting for him? If you are working class you are an inconvenient irrelevance, if you are a woman - same, if you are gay you are a second class citizen, if you are an immigrant you shouldn’t be here, if you are in any way politically attuned middle class then you are offended by his misogyny and homophobia so that leaves the upper class (there aren’t THAT many of them to sway a whole constituency vote) or right wing middle class, or a blinded by the light, good old days, I want it to be like Downton Abbey member of the working class. Don’t think there’s too many of them around. So who the hell is voting for him???

I live in a Conservative safe seat. You could affix a blue rosette to a fence post, and it would get in. (Indeed, given my MP's performance I do sometimes wonder if she may be an animated fence post).

I can only assume that JRM represents a similar constituency.

The other parties hardly seem to bother campaigning here either, so it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. I like the area generally, but God it's depressing come election time!

JRM must be a 'good constituency MP' b/c his first win in 2010 was only due to divided lefties (combined votes for Labour & LibDems would have beat JRM). Yet, his majority has only soared since then.
