Does anyone else look into people's living rooms or kitchens when they walk past houses?

Or is it just me?

Saw a woman last night blow drying a dog on the kitchen table. Dog was displeased.

Surely others do this? Grin

yes, of course. If you keep your curtains/blinds open when it's dark outside you're fair game!

I like admiring people''s front doors and hallways. I have real envy in this area.

Sparklingbrook · 15/11/2018 13:43

I really try not to when walking. I know how much I would hate it, people peering in.

I do like to do it from the train though. Blush

SneakyGremlins · 15/11/2018 13:44

Sparkling I use train journeys to become jealous of people's gardens Blush

Oh yes, gardens in the summer definitely. Grin

EnidButton · 15/11/2018 13:45

Yes and anyone who says they don't are lying to themselves. 😬 Not a proper gawk, just a sneaking side eye.

Sparklingbrook · 15/11/2018 13:46

Top deck of a double decker bus level with people's bedrooms in the winter? Difficult not to look on the way home from work.

halcyondays · 15/11/2018 13:47

yes, how can anyone not?

Enigmam · 15/11/2018 13:48

I do all the time 😆 I also have a good nosey at my neighbour's front gardens/drives. I'm always wondering how there's look so much bigger than mine.

BluthsFrozenBananas · 15/11/2018 13:48

I’ll admit I know I shouldn’t but I do. I love the little glimpses into other people’s lives. I know it sounds stupid but it makes me feel bit warm and fuzzy when I see what look like cosy little scenes in lit windows as I pass, especially if I’m on the bus or the train and it’s cold outside.

NameChanger22 · 15/11/2018 13:48

I love to do this, especially in posh areas. I would be very happy to walk around the best bits of London peering through windows for days on end.

NameChanger22 · 15/11/2018 13:49

I can't often get to London, so I just have a nosey on Rightmove instead.

Thisnamechanger · 15/11/2018 13:49

Always. Especially on Hamilton Terrace in London!

SneakyGremlins · 15/11/2018 14:26

Why Hamilton Terrace? Grin

The best place to do this is on the Highline in New York

nowshesaturtle · 15/11/2018 14:30

I do this and mostly I just think 'Wow what horrible lighting'.

I may be a bit over invested in lighting.

Armchairanarchist · 15/11/2018 14:30

The early evening dog walk when their lights are on but curtains are still open...
Our small estate is made up of eighty year old identical three bedroom semis. It's fascinating to see the differences.

SouthWestmom · 15/11/2018 14:31

This is why we put translucent glass in our front windows.

MulticolourMophead · 15/11/2018 14:31

Most of the time I don't bother, but sometimes some movement, etc catches my eye and I look without thinking.

RiverTam · 15/11/2018 14:40

Sparkling well, yes, I would hate it too - which is why I have large shrubs etc partially obscuring my window but mainly I close my curtains when it gets dark! I assume that those who don't aren't fussed.

ImNotKitten · 15/11/2018 14:42

Just me who thinks it’s nosey and rude to stare in?

SneakyGremlins · 15/11/2018 14:44

I'm not staring, I'm looking while walking past. Two seconds at most.

I do it when I'm driving Hmm
