Hamilton is it worth it?

For some reason I've suddenly decided I really want to see Hamilton. Decent tickets are about £125 and we're up north so train, hotel and food on top. Although we can afford it I'm not sure I can justify the cost to myself. Anyone seen it? Is it worth it?!

Oz I think for an 8 yo who loves the medium it would be fine, but the show is long and the seats notoriously uncomfy. If it's possible to put him on the end of the row that would be great. (I was a bit fidgety just because of the lack of leg room and was hyper aware of how that was probably annoying the people in front of me. And I'm only 5' 1"!)

I’ve seen it twice this year and absolutely love it. I think it’s the best musical I’ve ever seen. I had the top price stalls tickets, which to be fair are very expensive at £200. I’m in the NW and with trains, and a hotel for one of the trips, it’s cost an absolute fortune, but worth it. I really want to go again but haven’t got any leave left.

They put returns on sale normally on a Monday morning for that week and sometimes the following week, which is how I got the first ticket, the second one I booked six months in advance.

100% yes. Saw it in December with my dh and we took the dc with us last month to watch it again. It was just as good the 2nd time (still teared up, lol).

I would pick your seats carefully though as I've heard some of them have restricted views. We were lucky enough to be near the front both times, but I don't think I'd have enjoyed craning my neck, or not being able to see properly, throughout the whole show as it's quite long.

Also, I'd never heard of it before I saw it the first time and had no idea what to expect (and my other half doesnt like rap), but we both loved it.

@Ozgirl75 my DD was 8.5 when we went and she was enthralled. It had basically being playing in our house non-stop (heh) for over a year by then so she had a clear idea of the songs and storyline which I think helped. The swearing is not excessive, and as PP says Say No To This is not particularly explicit in terms of visuals. It's very emotional towards the end (14yo DS1 and I were both in tears) but aside from that I think if he knows and loves the songs beginning to end he will probably be fine
